8 miles takes 5 freaking years?!? Holy shit
Clearly the engineers and construction crews in Utah are far superior to those in Colorado. You sure are lucky.
Impacts will be minimal
Same dog shit bag show as usual for every front range punter headed west to get there mountain on just add 20 minutes to your cock measuring contest
It'll take a year to blow the top off a mtn and set piers
The new west bound 1.5 mile ling bridge from the top of Floyd hill to the central city parkway exit will get built w little to no impact to existing traffic the same jerk offs in complete fear will Ride there brakes down Floyd hill for a few more years
As a junior civil engineer I approve
I can get with most of their little tidbits, but this has me in a quandary. Honestly, kinda fucked up and irresponsible.

haha, if that's real then someone just wasn't thinking (probably high). I think it would read, "Drive sober or get pulled over".
I took the picture today. Thought I misread, so turned around to get a pic
Gotta stay in the New Mexico state of mind and we'll get through this construction.
And it is an extraordinarily complicated 8 miles, with pretty big engineering challenges, not the least of which is keeping the entire road open the whole time.
Isn't most of the building taking place off the highway? Is it a reroute, just like the last tunnel improvement project? Honest question, I really don't know anything about it. Most of my I70 travel these days takes place west of this clusterfuck so I'll be unaffected but vibes to the Frangers that still ski. Make it bad enough and maybe we can have some reduction in skier numbers, which I, for one, would welcome.
Quite a bit of the project is off the highway. Legit!

I still think they should have taken 'er right through the mountain to eliminate that sharp right-hander westbound before the CCPW:

But I'm no civil engineer. :D
Yeah, that looks like it could take a little while...
I don't understand what is taking so long on hwy 50 between Gunnison and Montrose. It's year 3, they completely close the highway for large portions of the day, they work nights, and it's hard to tell that they've done anything.
They seriously could have built a bridge down the entire length of the project in less time than it is taking, blows my mind.
