It's pretty cool in a way although it doesn't seem like the height got it any views. The pool is really something, I guess there's probably a reason it doesn't have water in it.

Yes, the pool needs some attention. I'll guess those slate floor tiles get really, really cold in the winter. Description says it is 64 years old. It looks really good for that age. Especially so in some of the interior trim choices, you can tell they are not new but still look good, the 'wood paneling look' in the library room by the fireplace comes off looking nice, as does the interior brick walls on the front entrance.
The piers for the steel structural members caught my eye. One or more of then look like they've been rebuilt using concrete block in place of concrete. And they sit on a field stone bed, in one or two pics looks like erosion is happening (pic with the curved tree roots eroding away), all of which can be fixed with some $$. In another pic it looks like the solid concrete pier is not plumb, but it could also be the angle of the pic.
One of the pics shows a concrete slab driveway and a garage door. But I can't see where that concrete driveway connects to the main level in any of the other pics.
It would be fun to spend a few hours looking going through this place and the landscape in detail, looking at how things were done in the late 1950s.
I love it, bath update and replace some of the slate, clear some trees and I would be happy. Spray foam under the floors and install sheathing as well. Problem is that I have zero [0] desire to live in Duluth. Pool likely empty because the house isn't occupied currently.
I'm wondering what those brackets hanging off the rim at the exterior were intended for.

They are a pretty cool little blast from the past, you can still get replacement parts for them. I've seen some with bakelite parts. Energy loss is enormous but I think you can retrofit with updated weather stripping.
pfft. it only has parking for only one car.
