GUNS!!!!!!!!

No, I searched Gunbroker and the web using 1874, and found a bunch, but none with the checkering and that particular buttstock. I think it is an 1874 Special Deluxe but I'm not sure. Several new reproductions are floating around based off the 1874.

I'm not beating it up, but it hasn't been well cared for. The metal has rusted, the stocks may clean up pretty well. Looks like it wasn't made with a rear sight mounted on the barrel. The flip up rear sight at the handguard is missing. No idea where you could get original parts.

Not being a vulture, check my truck thread, but if you don't want it, I have always had an itch for one. I have a ton of inherited guns, and all have a meaning.

From what I’ve read, many were custom ordered. I’d really like to fire that fucker, then probably sell it. As far as I know it came through my family that went from Virginia west after the War of Southern Treason

I like sigs, and hate striker fired guns, so would love a 220 someday, but for now just have a S/W 10mm and its pretty good. Lighter than my all steel 226, but doesn't kick much more. Perfectly reliable through about 1k rounds, mostly low power.

Also curious about reliability reports for the 1cm 220.


I cam also say I've shot a .460 Rowland converted Wilson Combat 1911 that was pretty cool. Not really very high recoil at all, considering the FPS and bullet weight, accurate, great trigger, but sadly, not reliable, and the extra super ultra heavy recoil spring that is needed to tame the recoil, makes it a bit slower and more fumbly to try to clear a lot of jams. This could be mitigated with training, i think I just have habits of gripping the slide in certain ways that left me feeling like I needed to readjust my grip for more leverage, and training to always grab the slide and clear jams in the same way, kind of manhandling it, would solve this, but you're still clearing jams.

Its also just ungodly expensive for guns, and ammo compared to 10mm, but on paper, at least, its far superior in terms of felt recoil vs energy on target.

Its a replica made in the 80s as a presentation grade pistol, these were originally given to army officers of high rank and or political dignitaries.

The lead balls are gold plated.

I like my M&P 10. I put heavier recoil springs in it and the G20 as I carry 220 grains while elk hunting. I’ve toyed with getting a 460 conversion kit down the road…just to say I have one. I also shoot a 257 Bob so I like obscure shit.

Gun brahs, nuts, and enthusiasts - I humbly post in your thread seeking advice. I have a girly tikka t3x superlight chambered in 6.5 cm that I hunt with. I want to make it even girlier by suppressing it, but I need to take it to a gun smith to get the barrel threaded. The barrel is currently 24.3" long and fluted. The fluting ends about 3.5 from the muzzle. Tikka appears to offer several similar models to my riffle that come with a 24" fluted barrel, factory threaded in 5/8-24 with a radial brake installed. My question is this: Can I have a gun smith chop 2.5 or 3" off my barrel and thread it 5/8-24? And the only reason I am considering shortening my barrel is because it's already pretty long, and a suppressor will make it even longer. I've read a bunch of contradictory stuff on other forums, and don't really understand everything guys are spouting off about ie facing, shoulders, adaptors, etc.

Follow up question: Can anyone make any recommendations for a suppressor for my rifle? Do I want a quick release or direct thread? Should I also install a brake and use an adaptor? The only shooting I do is to practicing my marksmanship and to hunt - that is to say no competition or anything like that. Thanks for entertaining my novice and uninformed questions.

Before you chop your barrel, take a look at the weight of a nice titanium suppressor.

As far as a gunsmith, see if you can find a suppressor manufacturer that will specifically take your gun and thread it to your suppressor.

Take a look at silencerco.com They are very responsive and can probably answer a ton of questions.
