Jesse‘s got a lot of dogs/family around right now, so she’s going on three different runs with assorted family members, and then when she’s not running she’s chewing on the other dogs, so when she’s not around them… she’s out.

We presently have two dogs and 3 cats. Our dogs are older and Gunther who is a little over 13 has maybe a year left in him. He is Maya's rock and I worry about her once he passes. I occasionally look on Petfinders for a few breeds and a two year old Samoyed just popped up. I sent them an intro about us and will see if they respond. Am I nutz to bring a third dog into the house?

So many unpredictable variables: will Gunther need a lot of geriatric care? Will there be any personality clashes between the current dogs and the new one? Personally, I think it could be good for Gunther to have some youthful energy around as long as the youngster knows not to push things too far. We've got 5 at the moment, mostly older (one very old with serious eye problems) with the most recent acquisition being a 9 month old ridgeback-visla cross - once the pecking order was established (took about 2 months) it's been good. Also depends on you being able to keep up with a young, higher energy, attention demanding dog - this was what got me the most with our newest addition. Hoping to not need any serious shoulder repairs. ;)Quote:
