Totally fair. Helped crew for the Iron Dinosaur out of Pittsburgh, PA. Owner/driver Don Gillmore. Haven't been on the salt since 2016, but now I want to build a motorcycle speed machine. Very hot. Pretty good salt surface. All in all, a good week. Could have been worse!

So I broke every rule of used car buying yesterday. Found a private party 14 Volvo s60 with 31k miles locally for $12k, test drive and put down $500 deposit. Took a very long drive and a decent shake down but I usually get a PPI . I didn't even bring my scanner to check codes.
I ran the vin and no wrecks/clean title

I justified to myself because I know that car would sell to the next guy to look at it.

Schedule to meet the guy(selling for his elderly sister) at my bank Monday for a certified check... What the fuck am I thinking ??!!

So, is a free Carfax report on the for sale Carfax site the same as spending money?

I'm guessing it's just a snapshot. Vehicles that have obviously sold, don't show up as a new owner. Strangely, since it's allmost all auctions nowadays, dealers post report before they do any work to get ready to sell? On would think it would be advantageous to add what was done to vehicle before listing. Or do they just flip around auction inventory take photos and list?
