iso a pair of Gorge tickets for either night along with the other thousands of slackers that didn't plan ahead. hmu if you heard of anything!
Bobby has really cultivated the Lost Sailor/castaway look during tonight’s NYC show. It appears he has been away too long at sea.
Go watch the free preview on utoob for specifics.
love Bob
Well that show last night was fantastic. No tempo issues, it was full speed ahead all night. John Boy was hurtin' though and it showed in his face from the start. Apparently he fucked his back up so he sat in a chair the whole 2nd set and he fkn jammed.
Now I'm trying to decide if I rally to Fenway on Sunday. Hmm
So, how was Fenway last night? Who's there tonight? I want to be there so badly but I couldn't talk myself into the solo road trip. If you're there tonight tell me it sucks.
If you got Fakebook, Oteil’s page is broadcasting the nugs.net feed.
Just a few song preview but the tempo was great and sounded fun
I gotta say, Mayer has really evolved his playing of GD music since I the first times I saw DeadnSlo. I didn't want to like him in the band but dude is a monster on guitar and has found a groove in the music.
They really are a good band, sometimes even great.
Didn't go to Fenway and now wish I had, my bias from the 7-8 times I've seen them plus the ticket prices kept me home.
If Mayer toured with Joe Russo’s Almost Dead, with the existing guitarist, that would really be something. They could even do Southern Rock dual Jerry leads!
I’m watching the nugs.net preview. I won’t be surprised to learn tomorrow that Jay was dosing. Owsley t-shirt and a head sway that suggests he on his way.
Thinking it may be a nice night to get the nugs net stream. A rare Monday show.
Is this the last show?
Nope, still have the Gorge and San Fran.
Jay’s got his Owsley shirt on again tonight.
Bertha outta the gate.
Was at Folsom Field last night. Show was great.
Probably wouldn't have gone if we hadn't been promised "this is the last tour".
But quite glad we went.
The music was good, crowd had fun, just like you would want.
My main takeaway was that the most compelling musicians were John Mayer and Oteil Burbridge. Followed closely by Jeff Chimenti.
Bob and Mickeys presence lends legitimacy and the songs will live on, but it seemed to me this version has run its course.
Yes, picture is upside down.

Currently in an hour long lightning / rain hold. Act of god! That said, just heard far and away the best Althea I have ever heard, including with Jerry. This is the first post Jerry show I have been to. My first impression is that Mayer could actually putt this entire thing off without Mickey and Bobby. With another hot shit guitarist and singer, it would be my cup of tea, and I'm sure it would amazing.
Maybe also turn up O'tiel's treble.
I think Mayer is in some ways a more interesting guitarist tonally and technically, but Jerry of course had that fat soul.Attachment 463838
Was a great show until John brought out fucking Dave Mathews. Fuck I didn’t want to hear this bullshit.
Still a great show, that just surprised me for the worse at the moment.
I’m always left with this feeling after a great show that I could keep watching for hours, now what…
Let's be clear, I am no fan of Dave Matthews either. But I would way rather hear him attempt some melody with all of those sing-along s that listen to Bobby imitating a strangled chicken. Tunelessly.
