Man if theaters open next year, Robert Pattinson is gonna rule the Silver Screen with this and Tenet...
2021 is gonna be (over?)saturated with DC superhero flix for sure: the aforementioned The Batman, Wonder Woman 1984, and this...
Wonder Woman meets Cats?
I am not 100% sure, but I think it may have already been released overseas. There are already quite a few reviews floating around the Webz
Google says September 3rd for the U.S.
Just checked my local cinemas (Century and Galaxy chains) and both claim to be re-openjng in August 28th with a full slate of films.
Gonna be interesting to see what happens after the Labor Day holiday.
I, personally, am not 100% ready to brave a theater yet...
Century/Cinemark chains are offering private Screening Parties for 20 people max:

Two of the 3 CenturyTheaters in Reno charge $5 for all movies before 6 and $9 for movies after 6pm. The other one, which has reclining lounges, thus is "premium", is charging $8.50 before 6 and $10.25 after 6pm.
Prior to COVID, most times I went to the movies there were rarely even 10 people at a screening, unless it was opening week of a tentpole flick.
I looked at one of the theater's website and of the 11 private screenings available for this Thursday, 7 of them were sold out.
That's 140 people potentially, just for the private screenings, add to that however many folks will brave to regular screenings. I would be curious to know what the average number of moviegoers was per day prior to COVID.
Also, they have blocked off every other row, so they will only be selling 50% of seats.

Tom Cruise went and saw Tenet in London.
His Twitter clip not only shows the star wearing a vented mask, but a packed theater that seems to ignore any semblance of social distancing.

Theaters here in Cali are still closed, but the ones in neighboring Nevada seem to keep selling out the $175 for 20 people max private screenings...
Coming to indoor theaters and drive-ins October 23rd, 2020...
Tenet was fun. And it was quite eerie watching it in the big (300 or more seats?) cinema where only 50 places can be sold. About 20 people were there. I couldn't even hear their popcorn. But that was due to the absurdly loud soundtrack.
4/5. Not an all time masterpiece, but really good.
Agree, better movie than getting credit for in most ways
BUT HOLY FUCK IT SOUNDS BAD
what in the fuck were they thinking with the mix. Unless it’s a scene in a room with nothing else going on you can’t understand a word-it’s completely and utterly FUBAR.

Yo, Otto!
I am curious to hear about your experience.
Did you attend an indoor theater or a drive-in?
I am seriously pretty close to dropping $150 to see Tenet all by myself in a private screening at either the Cinemark or Galaxy theaters in Reno...though I am also considering paying $8.75 to see it at the drive-in, as well (although my windshield is cracked and I fear my battery may not last the 150-minutes of screentime! Plus our local COVID rules prohibit you from being outside your vehicle to watch the movie, so no couches or lawn chairs...).
Saw in eldorado IMAX
Near empty on Sunday 4pm
at least 20-25’ft from anyone else.
Do that!
too loud but the mix is jacked.
Shame because it’s basically Nolan doing a 70% recent Bond/30% Primer mashup (aka right up my alley)
Apparently wasn’t the theater, have read similar.
And final trailer is Dune!
(Good trailer, wrong song for it)
I personally thought some
Aspects of Lynch are terrific, think the hand in box particularly great so don’t think that scene will be bettered. But Zendaya looks the part, cast insane (Baron)
and the worm is fucking spectacular.
would have used kid from Baby Driver while I’m rambling.

Do, that, as in plunk down $150 to get a theater to myself?
And I am guessing that theaters in Cali, specifically Sacto area are open again?
And agree with you about the Dune trailer music (I posted about that in the Dune thread, but apparently nobody noticed)...
:)
I meant I paid $16 I’d just drive for the imax experience (even with sound)
or find 4 more mags with $30?
More Big Screen delays.
Black Widow rescheduled for 2021 along with other MCU efforts:

Went to the movies on Thurs.
Wonder Woman 1984 was the hyped film with ads and a trailer (Dune was the only other trailer).
But now the fate of the Princess of the Amazons is up in the air.
Will it open on Christmas Day in theaters or be pushed back to 2021 or go to HBO?

Lynch’s human/animal test scene looked better.
The worm however!
