^^^I'll be driving up for the pond skim on Saturday.
I've never seen the big this filled in. You can ride over rocks and through chutes that just don't exist anymore. Hard charging no fear skiing. But be careful if you leave the resort things are really sluffy with all this fresh on top of the crust layer that formed last week.
^^^I guess it all depends how this weekend goes. the big sky pond has always been on my list.
you'll be stronger than ever in time for next season.
made it up 3 of the past 4 days, now only three days left and forecast is calling for more of the same . . .
Woot! Woot! Here I Go!
Well the bullwheels are still, but the snow is still there, anyone hiking this week?
I think I'll skin up the Bowl Thursday, and ski Long Chute.
Who was running that camera on a tripod at the base area? I made sure to get all up in its face and tell it who the best skier on the mountain is.
Hmmm.... pretty quiet here anymore, but there's probably even more snow now than at the end of "ski season". Currently we are looking at a hazardous weather advisory, a forecast for 2-4 inches of snow this afternoon, and 1-2 more overnight, at Snowbowl. Skiing was very good yesterday (2-5 inches of wind-buffed freshies on a carvable crust).
Ooh, Stuart Picked up another 3 inches since yesterday, it should be awesome today. I'll be up there in an hour or two trying to disappear what's left of my paunch.
There was three inches of new snow at the bottom of Snowbowl. On top of yesterday this made for some of the best turns of the season, I shit you not. Heavy snowfall the whole time I was up there, and more to come. Tomorrow will be the bomb.

It was that good.
Deeper than a camel toe& POS Mckay is out of town so bring your dog!
WOOT WOOT!!!
Absolutely crazy awesome. If the sun stays hidden this afternoon, tomorrow will be awesome too.
Anyone have some at gear I can tag along with you with? I have beacon/shovel/probe and the knowledge to use it. And a dog, and a dislike for authority.
You could always boot pack up The Bowl, that's what I did before I got my AT gear. You gotta want it.
There was lift service yesterday for those who wanted it - and not too far or need to rise too early given the time change (x2 - we went west to silver, but heard moonlight was doing the same). Great turns on steep terrain and the talk is that they'll be doing the same next week.
Yeah, I heard a whole crew was going West to Silver yesterday, but I work Saturdays, and have to put in for leave well in advance.
Oh well, I'm content to skin up Snowbowl. Of course I'm not even doing that today, I overslept so I decided to rest for a day.
anyone been up to lolo peak, trapper, or grey wolf this spring?
lolo just opened monday
trapper will be good to go for quite a while
grey wolf west coolie was prime a couple of weeks ago, but i'd bet it's getting pretty runneled. east coolie had a massive half-cracking cornice over it, so i wouldn't be stoked to go up it till it comes off, but it may have come down already. i'd assume that the south coolie is pretty rollered-and-runnelled but soon to be transitioning into sweet corn...
Morman creek is driveable to the trailhead.
Um, Stuart Mountain Snotel says 25 inches in the past 24 hours.
time to shred!
