Still getting to know my new local trails in NorCal. A lot of XC stuff but it’s kind of a nice change from the winch and plummet I’m used to.

Digging that first shot (even if it is sideways). Trails look prime

Edit from a ride last week. This place is nuts. I get the butterflies every time I unload my bike to ride there. These lines have never been captured on film before and probably haven't ever been ridden before we started frequenting this location. I first visited this spot 5 or 6 years ago but it hadn't become an official trail system until last summer.

+1. We scratched the surface in Page 6 years ago and this is what I've been expecting ever since.
@evdog, I think I mentioned the mostly moto zone on the AZ border--similar expectations if it can ever be explored.
The kind of terrain that makes me want a 700% gear range. Gotta get back.
Sick!
You did mention it. Saw a bunch of other areas with killer terrain, though in many of them bikes are definitely not allowed. Even my camp spot near Page had a bunch of fun looking rock above it. A bit to steep/gnarly for the xc bike though. It goes up farther than it looks.

The trail system itself is decent but I wouldn't go out of my way from St George just for that. The free riding is really fun. Worth it if you and your riding partners that want to push and scare yourselves on the steep slick rock lines. I wouldn't go ride there on my own personally. The fun stuff is seriously scary and those lines are on a whole different scale then anywhere else I've been. It takes me a good long minute to process the terrain and "sort of" get comfortable in it.

They’re not mutually exclusive.

Quick overnighter recently scouting a new bikepacking route in the desert. Found some good stuff and some not so good stuff. Also found some (questionable) water sources. And some abandoned boats, curious given the lack of water.

That’s cool ^. So you just strap your tent on the handle bars and some gear in a backpack?
Shoulder season arrives late in NM. Ride today, ski tomorrow.
