OMG. So cute it hurts.
Yeah. She was about the cutest thing I’ve ever seen
He's extremely smart and a fucking handful to manage but getting better as he ages. Weirdly he gives hugs - has anyone else had a dog do this? We didn't train him to do this but he stands on his hind legs if you are on the couch or bending down, wraps his front legs around your neck, and pulls you toward him like a human hug. He will only do it to people he knows well, so maybe six people total. He did this to a worker at the boarding kennel we use, and she said she almost cried.
Elliott does this, but only to those in his inner circle and usually just to males but it's more like jumping up and putting paws on your shoulders. I try not to encourage it being that he's 85 lbs and all, but he seems to realize his size and doesn't do it to small children or anything. I feel like he was probably taught this by one of his previous owners.

I encourage it! :D
Stunning pics.
Stop with that. So cute.
Our now 2 year old Border Collie gives hugs but doesn't jump up. He can use his front paws like hands and will frequently sit next to you quietly and wrap a paw around your leg or arm if you're sitting on the couch next to him. He'll do it if you're laying in bed too and actually pull himself closer to you. He's a lot more sensitive than our old Border Collie who never did anything like that.
Border collies give hugs. I didn't know either until we brought him home.
Oso really loves to hug his greeting out, then he goes and does his own thing, wants to play or walk. Not much of a long term snuggler, but occasionally he's okay with it. If we ignore his needs for too long he goes under the bed which is also very common for b collies. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...3924a3838c.jpg

That’s Boogybear, the Great Dane that’s scared of 15 pound dogs.
He doesn’t understand them lol.
Haha. I love your dog man. I mean I love my dog too. But shit, what a big love machine is Boogybear!
His undercoat is sooo soft. We could probably brush some of his wires out but he doesn’t shed that much and it’s part of his charm
Last week I had him in the car with me with his window down and the shuttle driver at the intersection next to me shouted “hey is that Yoda?” [emoji38]
Good to hear other people are also getting dog hugs, ha! We call them Doug Hugs because his name is Doug. The border collies really do latch on - It's a two-armed firm latch/hold and then pull, not just putting arms on your shoulder. I can't even see his head because it's on my shoulder or he's sniffing my ear. I've seen videos of Aussies doing the latch. I've had two other B.C. mixes and they never did this.
This one is full kook, so this pose suits him well. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...e7acfa1871.jpg
This is what it’s like with a 1.5yo highly alert dog and a 8yo mostly deaf now dog
I do wonder what she thinks of us not talking to her as much (seemingly to her). She’s def less of a guard dog since she just doesn’t hear normal volume sounds

We have switched our worry about coyotes when we put them out to pee before bed
