Ironically the Indigo Girls are from Atlanta, where in any given year the women that show up to cheer at the SEC Championship Game, Peach Bowl and CFB Kickoff all look like they came out of Kappa Kappa Gamma central casting (NTTAWWT).

I didn't realize that. Relocating to the UW campus area might be a good move for them.

Ani also comes to mind when I think of UW ladies:

Ha! I had Little Plastic Castles in my head right after I read Rev's comment and was like, wait, wrong 90s girl folk act.
Yeah, good point. the NIL cash needs to be there and UW alumni/fans just typically have more than just college football going on in their lives to spend money on. They need some tech money infusion. Also, agreed on the UW female talent, the palouse typically gets the cream of the washington crop.
Just one, by accident.
True story, in high school we lived near Blossom Music Center, a very cool outdoor venue in the middle of Cuyahoga Valley National Park that was the summer home of the Cleveland Orchestra (in its own right awesome, routinely top 10 in the world) but also host to the usual summer tours/festivals. Summer between Senior year and Freshman year of College I was lifeguarding at a second tier waterpark on the North end of the National Park with my friends.
After getting off work at the waterpark we’d meet up with our more adventurous friends who knew the trail and hole in the fence to the back of Blossom’s property. We’d sneak into whatever show was playing that night and just hang on the lawn asking people to buy us beers in exchange for buying them one. Worked great and saw many excellent shows that way. Well one night we walk in and damn if we weren’t smack in the middle of a sea of women in comfortable shoes there to enjoy Lilith Fair - Melisa Etheridge, Four Non Blondes, Indigo Girls, the whole bit. We were gonna take off but it turned out to be so ridiculously easy to get beers that show we just stayed and hung out. Ended up having a blast in fact. My girlfriend from then never let me live it down.
Lilith Fair holds a special place of lore in my friend group.
Every Memorial Day a rotating group of about 25-30 of us would meet at a particular campsite in Fruita for a long mtn bike weekend. No need to give anyone a heads up, just show up. Each year about 15-20 of the 30 would show. One of them was a buddy of mine we will call Dave. Another was a female friend who was a nationally ranked cyclocross rider. They could not have been more different. The cyclocross we was type A. Maybe type A+. Insanely organized. Very efficient. Dave was … not. Dave wasn’t real good at doing things like assigned chores. Cyclocrosser wasn’t real good at forgiving the lack of choring.
Dave was also very, VERY, into female bands. GoGos, Natalie Merchant, etc. In fact he recently quit his very high paying job as a VP for a national company to follow Tori Amos around on her European tour.
Anyway, one day at this camp in Fruita Dave had not yet done the dishes after dinner, which was his assigned chore. Cyclocrosser was giving him shit. Tensions escalated. They got pissed. The 20 or so other folks at camp were drinking beer and kinda giggling at it all cause we had seen this before.
Dave was telling her she should just relax and it’d work out. She’s getting more and more frustrated. Finally cyclocross girl just erupts and screams: “Dave you just don’t understand women!!!”
Dave, super pissed at this point, in absolute sincerity and seriousness, thinking this unquestionably will win him the argument, bellows out - “OH I UNDERSTAND WOMEN. I’VE BEEN TO LILITH FAIR!!!”
We all exploded. We laughed so hard for so long that several people passed out for lack of oxygen. It was awesome. And it has become a group quote that has survived for two decades now. Dave still gets hit with it with regularity.
So yeah. Lilith Fair.
If that quote isn't already on T-shirts and distributed to everyone by now, it needs to be.
Bunch of Huskies up in here:

That's funny, I missed that one. Kate McKinnon actually sounds extremely similar to [insert 90s female folk act].
Ted Bundy was a Fusky

Having attended both UW and UT, I can say the girls at both schools were about the same, except that they tended to wear a lot more clothes at UW compared to Texas.

"In the long term, these changes to college football seem potentially fatal. Sure, in the short term, they’ll work: I’m as excited to watch next year’s 12-team College Football Playoff as anyone. But in the long term, when you pattern yourself after the NFL in order to get some of their television juice, when you jettison the traditions and orthodoxies that made people fall in love with the sport in the first place, you stop being college football: You simply become Minor League NFL. And no one cares about minor league anything."

Double post
You haven't been to Cal.
My cousin had a date with Ted Bundy in Ann Arbor when she was in college. He got around. And Michigan girls are pretty good for an academically highly ranked public U. (A low bar, I know.) Now that I think of it, when is the last time schools with the academic reputations of U of M and UW competed for a national championship in anything besides debate.
For the record I went to a Brandi Carlisle concert and enjoyed it. Although the twins are pretty creepy.
Go Griz!
alrighty, what's gonna happen...?
Looking like a Varsity v JV game right now.
Tough play from both sides.
Michigan run game came to play.
Looks like the unabomber wins the Ted bowl.
