I had the same question last week, and worked it out that MO's recommendations use straight tape measurement. He gave me from the tail measurements and from center measurements, so I calculated the center of the ski using both straight pull and follow the material methods. Then measured back from center, which was the same as his from tail if I used straight tape.Quote:

Also doing a 9 day Powder Highway trip and can’t really see bringing any other skis than the R120, HB122 and FR110 for lift skiing. These three skis will probably get the most use inbounds at WB for me this year.

I opted for Shifts on the 186 BC110. Toes shimmed 4 mm as the AFD goes pretty low with 9523 soles.
3350 grams for the pair i.e. circa 1675 per ski, a few grams lighter than listed.
About a week until I can get them on snow, if conditions allows.

I got the 181 r110s. I’m 5’9” 150. Spent the last two days on them skiing my real boots. Suck a freaking awesome ski.
Super carvy and fun on the groomers. Big arcs or push them a bit and pop a bit of air between tight turns. Fun! Superb tune by Marshall.
Caught the opener today of a new lift for a couple of 1800 foot pow lines. So easy. Really I think the defining characteristic is any turn shape you want, anytime. Big little fast tight all super easy. The tips really make them want to come to the surface. No issues with float at all. These are my smallest skis by a bit and I was just surfing the pow.
Spent a bunch of time skiing windbuff bumps. My favorite was just ripping carves from the face of one bump to the next then spotting a smooth line between the bumps and going into a drift until I wanted to turn again and hooking up the back of the ski for a surf carve on the next bump face. Pretty addicting and just effortlessly dropping vert through some tricky turns.
I’m in MT and so we can have some long periods of pretty dry conditions. These were pretty sweet on the packed pow/windblown. Pretty sure I will ski them most days unless it is really firm and I want a little more camber/suspension. For sure get rocked a little if I hit a trough wrong in the harder snow. But these things got me looking forward to each run like it’s another opportunity to make magic. I get pretty fired up about skiing no matter what but I love trying to put all types of turns together into a perfect run through tricky stuff and these are kinda the ultimate tool for that! Is it 2moro yet?

You’re more patient than myself. Last time I forgot something, my jacket, I was like— “Welp, that’s a sign from god that I shouldn’t ski today.” And I just went home.
There is no way I would have been able to muster the strength to ski if I had forgotten my boots. Must be some powerful anticipation from the FR110 spirits.

Had my first softer snow day on thanksgiving this week. Missed the the big pow the day before, but there was still a lot of left over chopped pow, soft groomers and a perfect day to take out the FR110s. I almost took out my Sickles, but upinsmoke reminded me that all skis are rock skis and I am glad he did.
The FR110s is seriously the most intuitive ski I have ever owned. Slash, swerve, grind bumps, pop pow pillows left in between early season willows... just so much fun. Anyone on the fence about this ski needs to get on board asap.

Exactly how I felt on them last year. I shoulda taken mine out on Thanksgiving day this year, but wasn't paying attention to time or conditions. I hit the early morning of Summits opening at Alpine Meadows, and there was 6-8in of wind affected pow. I brought out Wildcat 108s, which worked well enough, but I know FR110s would have absolutely slayed. I get the feeling the FR110s are going to be my go to for those conditions, even over 186 Bodacious/Blackops 118s which rule.Quote:
