I was up there around the same time, must have just missed you. So many sledders on the exit. I was at Cardiff on Saturday and it was so much worse over there but at least the road is wide enough to ski around people
Those tracks are funny. Thought it might be a wandering mountain lion at first glance.
Wow it was warm this afternoon. Don't put too much trust in the 20 year old thermometer in my truck but it read 47 or something like that when I finished up around 2:30. That's going to be a stout crust for this incoming dust to land on. Shady aspects should be skiing really well.
lol who ripped out NW gobbs? you can see the crown from west temple
You must be referring to the results of my extremely broad shoulders, makes for 2 widely spaced sets of kitty tracks
One the one hand I'm happy this might have flushed the shit layer. On the other I'm pissed that Gobbs may never have enough snow to be skiable this year if it's all in the flats now...
Just noticed this. I skied NW Gobblers today. I was out on the face after traversing in from the shoulder.
It has 12-very optimistic 24" total snow. Ragged as hell. There were extensive wind rows up high, lower is variable wind pack.
Didn't see any slide on the 4pm exit unless I somehow(doubtful) started one. Very flat light in the afternoon.
Below 8500' there is about 6" total. Road is buff.
ah maybe wind sculpting and light magic? maybe a natural, maybe I’m wrong. sure looked like a slide bed and crown, in from benign line toward main gobbs
I can see it now..

No avalanches observed. Sorry for the late reply. internet is hitter miss. Using free wifi.
Only hit 3 rocks coming down this AM, all within 2 turns.
No instabilities on SE, S, SW, and no crust below either. Skied great.

16-day precip outlook looks grim: http://wxmaps.org/outlooks.php
Now that is a blast from the past, feels like 2012 or something equally ancient. Took me nearly a decade to revisit that slope and I still haven't gone through all the bad ideas I got on that tour!
Shhhhhhh. If you don't acknowledge it there may be a chance...
Wish I didn’t have to go back to work.

At least the inversion has been kept at bay so far, but the 8-16 day period looks like we could lose that too. I'm normally pretty OK with extended dry spells as they can be a good time to go bag peaks and do obscure stuff, but when there's no base...ugh. Afternoons at Brighton with the kiddo have been fun but it sure would be nice to not have half the mountain closed.
Today didn't suck.
Another good day in the north.
