Got back out to Buffalo Run this evening. Was playing with a guy with an $1100 set of Cobras and Titty woods and wdges who has trouble hitting the ball 50 yards so we played the whites. No argument from me, with the exception of last week, the last few rounds have left something to be desired.
Not anymore, my friends. Shot a 43 and was just hitting the ball fucking beautifully. I mean, it feels like I'm 12 again and Elizabeth from down the street is stroking my penis again for the first time. Hitting it so...fucking...good. Only reason I shot a 43 is because I three-putt double bogeyed the first then missed a four fucking foot putt for par on 17. Even with that, I still only had 14 putts. Fuck me, the last couple hours were so full of win. All it took was consistent practice with the awesome wedges SB sent paired with the tips Guroo gave me for my short game and "dropping the hammer" as well as working in a release of the hands through impact and I feel like a whole new golfer! Now if I can only get the driver/woods/hybrids dialed in...

Notice how I'm not fucking bending over the ball like the hunchback of Notre Dame similar to the pictures from about four or five weeks back.

Not bad. You need to widen your stance just a bit, stick your butt out more, and point your toes outward a little. And, you're not really getting your hips fired and out of the way which probably means you are arm swinging rather than letting your hips and torso lead the swing.Quote:

Arch your back to stick your butt out more. It's a force able act and not natural at all. Think angular and not rounded so your back is in a sort of U position (like doing upright rows or dead lift with a barbell). Your butt will stick out by forcing your torso forward not by bending your knees.Quote:

I thought you wanted your spine to be straight. You're saying to actually stick my ass out instead of just bending more at the waist and keeping a straight spine angle?
Can you (or anyone) post a video of the spine angle you're referring to? Either a pro or instructional?

this is something i've been working on as well. i had no idea how bad my golf posture was until i saw it on the gopro and the instructor pointed it out as well. the lessons have been great. the instructor is great and i've read enough that i am understanding better the written word now even though i didn't know what it felt like. he straightened me out almost immediately after my terrible day, which was a relief, and i'm getting closer to being able to straighten myself out, too.Quote:

Played a local course yesterday, not horribly difficult but it has its moments. Shot a 57 on the front, 44 on the back. Go figure. I hate golf (not really, but yeah, really).
how long does anybody use a ball before it's considered too damaged to be reasonably effective? i'm playing with used balls, but i've made friends with the head caddy (he's letting me use his clubs) and i tell him in advance when i need balls and he picks the best ones he has for me and some of the look like they may have been struck once.
after playing with them for a while, i cull out the ones that have any cracks or similar impacts on the exterior or the dimples are really worn or don't roll evenly on the green. other than the wobbly ones, i'm curious how much i lose with the ones that have worn dimples or look used but not significantly damaged.

I have a problem with golf balls. Every time I use my gap wedge, sand wedge, or lob wedge from the fairway (3 different wedges), I shear the ball, wether it be an NXT, ProV1, V1x, doesn't matter. It makes 4-6 lines right on the impact spot, and I have to wipe off golf ball from my club face. Drives me nuts. If I get a couple of those on there, it goes in my practice ball stash, sometimes even if it's once if it's been well used (2 rounds of golf), or a cart path, sometimes a tree mark. I don't want anything adding curve to my ball, and I almost never lose them, so using 2-3 a round is not a big deal to me, especially since I don't get to play nearly as much as I used to.
