Skied firm icy runs with piles of corn tonight at Stevens. Now we have spring conditions...in January. Bummer.

Laughing at those acting surprised by a January thaw.
Was in the middle fork yesterday and the rain really destroyed any signs of a snowpack below 4k once you're away from east wind territory.
FFS, February is coming and it's going cold. Might snow in Seattle on Sunday.
Sick shots yo!

way to check the whining Norse
Which one of you was at crystal on southback around 2-230? Saw someone pass on some praxis with a greenish jacket/pack which makes me think it’s a mag. Was with a work group so didn’t want to ask for change.
Crystal was skiing pretty good today. Pockets of goodness to be had. Heavy in spots and a lot of slide debris/chunder but still all in all solid day. Expected all groomers today but rode the chutes off the top of northway a few times and found quite a few good turns. The beach was great and mostly empty. Expected some people up there but 0 lift lines all day. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...84ff2bbc84.jpg

Xtal skied well today..firm but a good day to dial in some new boots and rip some corduroy. Even bear pits didn't ski tooooo badly as long as you avoided the bulk of the avy debris.
Anyone holding a reservation for sunday? Looking for one...
Attachment 359149Attachment 359148Off piste at Mission. Interesting but skiable.
Conditions at Snoqualmie were mediocre at best today. Anything in the shade was pretty icy; runs in the sun were better but could still feel the hard surface underneath the slushier snow.
Couple shots from today's ski commute. The atmosphere was kinda shimmery with cold air trapped near the surface... shrug.

Great shots. Do you have to ferry every time you go ski?

Thanks. I think they're mediocre... clearer air next time maybe, and I now see that its time to clean the sensor. I'm a hack just fuckin around. This rig is a Sony a6600 with 70-350mm telephoto.
Usually I drive across the Tacoma Narrows bridge, WA-16 to I-5 to WA-18 over Tiger to I-90... which is slightly faster than the ferry to I-90 straight shot. But coming home, southbound I-5 is fucking jammed all afternoon and evening, so I've been taking the ferry on weekdays. Even with having to manage the timing of the sailing, it's so much more relaxing (and probably a lot safer). And on clear days in the winter, the views are insane.
This is my fave of the day but didn't quite align with the bucolic theme above...

I love taking the ferry. Other than price most relaxing way to travel.
