From reading the numerous posts, it appears there are various forms of treatment (guess this depends on your surgeon and type of fracture). I fractured my plateau on 7/4/12 as a result of flying, falling off a makeshift stair. I had a pretty good depression and surgery completed on 7/9/12 resulting in 4 pins and a plate. Like everyone else, no weight bearing for six weeks. My great fortune resulted in loosing my balance on my crutches and falling backwards onto an object 2 weeks later. 9 screws and a plate in my right wrist. No more crutches and wheeelchair for the next period of recovery. Survived all that, the boredom and depression and I am now up and walking. My MD said no PT was needed but to get up and get moving but I am feeling like this is not enough. Leg stiffens if I sit too long and if I get up and start walking by the end of the day I can hardly stand on it from the pain. I have also developed these weird sensations in my foot and my knee. Almost like an electric shock. I have two questions: 1. Do you feel I should get some real PT? 2. Has anyone experienced these weird shocks?
