Figured it gives an up to date look at kachina. I bet it doesn't open this year unless real snow
Byates, how long are you there for? In real time, not the TSV space/ time continuum…
^ most of the season. The c suite talk re this season is no busy. They are looking at spring break as the next busy week. Dead otherwise. So I'll leave a few times and return.
Hope to ski ya!

Tits deep bruh
At least the moguls aren’t as big as usual…
My son's gf scored old rental poles at Mammoth ly. It's kinda funny as I'm still rocking my tsv rental poles from when I worked at the shop. Her's are of a newer vintage, but definitely during Manny's tenure. https://uploads.tapatalk-cdn.com/202...2f789f5bd4.jpg
Can they not just winch cat Al's?
I've always avoided it because it's god's way of telling me that the line has already been skied.
There is like 5" of facets pretty sure it would be unsupportable for the cat. But hey
I just don't get the sidestepping. A bunch of high patrolers looking to kill a day?
They've.been beating down slopes since November. It all rots here 100% so maybe it helps. Rough year, basically 15" since Thanksgiving. Thankfully no get to go and come back
I just went to Fernie their big extreme lift up high opens even less than Kachina.
Solid 50mm for today, boot sole deep. May stack up over 100mm by tomorrow. Huge.
Git some, you are in training BYA2025
Wolf Creek looking at a foot a week from now ,hope that holds. Will do another CO/WY/MT/ID/UT loop next week. Will only be in Taos for pres week and spring break unless it snows.
Phil Mahare standing on the hill w a group yesterday. I asked him if he needed any tips before I dropped in...

Is this storm producing up at TSV yet? Its pouring down in ABQ and Santa Fe seems like they are getting hit harder. I might say screw it and accept worse terrain for more snow on Friday morning.
I'm up north but they'll get 3-6. Will be better than it's been

That'll get things rolling... looks super-fluffy.
/\/\/\ You rang?
:D
Be careful - with things that fluffy, you're still going to get down to the sharks. :D
I told a family member to make a reservation for some base work this afternoon.
The snow fell on 5" of facets. Basically bare ground
Winter in the SW ain't happening this year. We just got 5-8 inches on the mountain, about an inch in town but the forecast says we will be 60 degrees in Flagstaff on Monday.

I just got back from a short family trip to Taos, my first in 17 years. The fresh snow was beautiful and helped the conditions but man is that place thin. Great area - I love the vibe and sunshine.
Sorry to miss you. Would have been good to catch up. I have to head back to TSV in a week plus but pretty much have committed to bouncing and spending the rest of the season in ID/UT/MT etc..
That would have been fun, but I was traveling with a toddler so just keeping my head above water! Still it was fun to see this part of the southwest again that I only briefly visited so many years ago. I loved the sunsets, stargazing and warm sunshine. It’s very refreshing coming from the PNW
Def. I'm in the damp tank now snowing everyday McCall. Throwing out my floor mat tomorrow too damp.
Saw they got 7 inches last night and might get more late this week. I'll be in the area next weekend. Is it even worth throwing the skis in the truck or did this 7 fall right onto the dirt? Any beta welcome.
just over 16% of their season total fell to the ground in the last week
If you have days to use there def go. W basin is filled in. Kacina was open for hiking. The hill has the best vibe.
I wouldn't pay 2 hundred whatever to ski groomers and boney off trail but if you have ikon days Taos is a good time.
