FX and HD have the same sole. On the website they call it the 7mm sole but that’s not right. That must include the removable insole. It is the thin 4mm heat moldable sole. After two days that will pack out to be super thin.
The strobl sole is thinner to start. The Powerwrap sole is much much thicker.
Personally I find most intuitions too soft and don’t give good heel hold for that reason. I would never use one that isn’t an HD foam.
I get great heel hold with the ProWrap but have never tried anything softer or a tongue liner . I also have a 28 ProWrap crammed into a 27 shell so plenty of material packed around the heel bone.
Might be struggling with search function, but what’s the skinny on the new Tour Tongue compared to the (GOAT?) pro tour? I read perhaps a slightly thinner sole, fixed tongue, and it looks like the lace loops stop at the ankle? (The latter being a downgrade imo). Just the new normal or should I try hoarding some MV pro tours?

Do the stiff tongues do anything for Pro Tours? I’ve used tour wraps for a while and just got some pro tours- they walk better, but my boots suck for skiing now. Should I add the stiff tongue to get the downhill performance back?

Depends what your problem is. If your heel is lose the tongues won't help at all. Can you elaborate on the feeling?Quote:

Same, I have a few tours on my pro tours and they already feel sloppy in the heel. Pro bootfitter, or me tinkering was never able to tighten the heel with pads without getting hotspots when touring. The original mercury liner gets me through a season, but they are becoming scarce. I should make the jump to GFT.
Anybody know if it’s worth trying the stiff tongues?

Not intuition specific, but I need new liners for my TLT5 and 6. I’ve used intuition plugs for years in them (great) and more recently the paper-towelesque stock ZGTP liners (fine but already packing out). MV tour pros and GFTs definitely do not fit in these. I didn’t love the v1 tour wraps - the interior material is a bit rough compared to the OG plug wraps. Haven’t loved pro tours for the same reasons mentioned in the post on this thread - get sloppy, tongue fit/skiability can be lame. So, options would seem to be the new 9mm tour wrap, new 9mm downhill wrap or old plug. In the more distant past I used alpine wraps (less stiff than power wraps) with huge success in Vulcans, but they don’t make them in an LV, so no dice. WWMD? Anyone actually gotten their hands on these new liners (i.e. 9mm tour wrap/downhill wrap)???? Is the inner material of the new liners like the OG tour wrap, the og pro tour or the alpine/power wrap? Any other options people are liking for a LV tour-only boot?

The old tour wrap is very similar volume to the ZGTP stock liner. I have about 50 days in my wraps and they still have life in them. The new tour wrap is +1mm thickness throughout vs. the old.
Andy ski, out of curiosity where do you need the low volume? Toes, instep, width?
Has anyone tried removing the silver stiffener from the cuff of the Pro Tour? I'd like to make the cuff less bulky, willing to give up some stiffness.
Easy. Cut the stitches on the bottom. Leave the stitches on the top and front edges and cut the wrap layer along the stitch. This will keep those seems in place. . Peel off.Quote:

Are you referring to old and new FX race, and also commenting on the newest line up of intuitions in general?
I can tell you for certain that last years FX race was the same as four years ago. They were never a low volume liner and that was bad marketing calling them that. It is a high volume ankle and low volume forefoot. Always has been. Once molded it is the best bet for a tight ankle and roomy toes. BUT it takes a lot of effort to compress the heel and give you that toe room. Heat and mold it aggressively.
Our shop is not carrying intuition anymore either but that is purely because Zipfit works way better and is better value.
Looking for some MV wrap liners. 28.
Ideally some tall & High Density!
I also have some tour wraps (28). I'd be down to trade.
Time for Zipfits I guess. About 40 days on these HD races.

Has anyone tried the new DH wrap liners? Specifically the 9MM version? New line seems to be a upgrade from older offerings but haven't been in Intuitions in a long time.
Anyone try the new dual density tour liner (tongue, not wrap)? Curious how it compares to the tried and true pro tour. Especially with advertised better heel hold with the J pad things. Same fit/sizing/performance as pro tour?
Also, sizing question: I’ve always bought the same size tour pros as the size of the boots and they worked fine. Do people size up or down for Scarpa boots (which break on the half size, not full)? For example, would you put a 28/28.5 or 29/29.5 Intuition tour pro into a 28.5/29 Scarpa 4Quattro?
A 28.5/29 Scarpa is a 28/28.5 in any other boot. Get the matching sized intuition to go with it. So 28.Quote:

Okay, school me on what I'm missing here. I cannot get my foot into the liner when it's in the boot.
I have Atomic Hawx XTD Ultra's (LV) in 27.5. A finger and a bit of space in the shell, bootfitter said I've got super low volume feet. I've got a ton of room with my stock liners.
I grabbed a 27 PowerWrap (MV) from a mag on here. Out of the shell, in just the liner, my foot feels okay, definitely snug.
Put it into the boot and I simply cannot get my foot in there. I noticed the lower piece of the boot cuff isn't fully closing. Think the MV's are just too thick to fit in this shell? Is there something else I should be trying here?
