Well the first show of the day was (matinee?). I was too tired/ beaten up by skiing too much during the holidays and was taking a "rest day" from skiing so ate a lazy breakfast in the pearl district adn walked over for the first show. I don't know how much the evening shows are for. Can't go wrong for 4 bucks and it is a pretty decent film.Quote:

It was great to hear these personalities explain why it is our cuture loves pushing the envelope in the big country. Why we push ourselves. Why we take risks (of course, some bigger than others). But still, we all aspire to go further. What it is to use fear and emotion positively and not backing away from achieving our dreams.
As others said, the Briggs segment was well-done. His interviews were inspiring and personal. It felt like you met a part of him many times before. The part that shares the same dreams/aspirations as many of us, to push yourself harder/further every time you get out in the mountains. His segment alone had me thinking of ways to speed up my plans for moving back to the mountains permanently.
Won't talk much more about it as I know there are many here looking to go see it soon. The Doug Coombs segment was good as well. Felt like they made it as intimate as possible, wanting the viewer to understand he and Emily, and their influences here in NA.
The 80's segment w/ Blizzard of Ahh's seemed short. As said before, big focus on Plake instead of Schmidt :confused:.
I like when Stump made the JFK comment then realized, 'wait I didn't mean to make such a serious comparison,' he recovered well.
Last word, Ingrid Backstrom = Wow. Yes, we've all seen the line before courtesy MSP. But to hear her talk about it, how it followed Harrison's fall. And to see the footage on big screen. Very impressed.:the_finge

Great stuff - saw this last night and was really impressed. Best ski pron I've seen in a while.
I saw it last night at Trans Lux in Dillon.
Awesome movie... best Ski Movie I've seen in a long time, maybe ever (I tend to prefer the documentary style vs standard ski porn)
Great cinematography, cool interviews. Well worth the $9 (ouch!!) I paid to see it. Its playing at the Dillon Ridge Theater for a bit, catch it while you can.

Far and away the best ski flick I have ever seen. One of the best flicks I've seen, period.
There were probably 20 quotes within the first half hour that I could write down and stick on my fridge. I really liked how similar experiences seemed to be across the board- you could trade the skiers and what was said about skiing the Grand and skiing that sick line on the S side of Mt Blanc and barely know the difference.
See it if you can.
