Dude, come on, why the negativity?:the_finge :the_finge

We stole your snow. My cornfield is covered with a good base covered by big powery fluffy flakes. Too bad there's no hill.. ;)
Music to my ears:
SEVERAL FEET OF SNOW POSSIBLE ABOVE 7500 FEET BY SUNDAY
Ok, so anyone heading up tomorrow, Wednesday, to ski on the endless hard-pack one last time ? :D
In the rain even ??
See ya at Squaw then ;) (no, really !!)
Leaving good snow to go to Tahoe, it better let loose!:FIREdevil
i might make it up there this weekend, but I doubt it.
next weekend maybe if it comes down
RAIN AND SNOW WILL RETURN TO THE LAKE TAHOE AREA BY MID MORNING. SNOW
LEVELS WILL START OUT NEAR OR ABOVE 7000 FEET THIS MORNING AND
THEN DROP TO LAKE LEVEL BY THIS EVENING. TOTAL SNOW ACCUMULATIONS
OF 4 TO 8 INCHES ARE EXPECTED ABOVE 7000 FEET BY LATE TONIGHT. UP
TO 2 INCHES OF WET SNOW ARE ALSO EXPECTED DOWN TO LAKE LEVEL AFTER
8 PM PST THIS EVENING.
SNOW LEVELS ARE STILL SITTING AROUND
7500 FEET THIS MORNING AND THERE WILL LIKELY NOT BE TOO MUCH COOLING
UNTIL LATER THIS EVENING. THEREFORE MOST OF THE SNOW ACCUMULATION
WILL BE ABOVE 7000 FEET...WITH MAYBE AN INCH OR TWO AT LAKE LEVEL
NEAR THE VERY END OF THE FIRST EVENT TONIGHT. SNOW AMOUNTS WILL
LIKELY BE LOW END ADVISORY...WITH UP TO 6 OR 8 INCHES IN THE HIGHEST
ELEVATIONS.
THE REST OF THE FORECAST GETS MORE CHALLENGING. THE MODELS ARE ALL
OVER THE PLACE STARTING AS EARLY AS THURSDAY. THE GFS IS STILL THE
WETTER AND FASTER OF ALL THE MODELS. AFTER LINGERING SHOWERS IN THE
SIERRA EARLY ON THURSDAY...IT BRINGS THE NEXT WAVE OF PRECIP IN AS
EARLY AS THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH FRIDAY EVENING. THE NAM IS MUCH
DRIER AND SLOWER AND HOLDS OFF UNTIL MIDDAY FRIDAY BEFORE BRINGING
THE NEXT HEAVY ROUND OF PRECIP. THIS PUTS A LOT OF QUESTION ON
TIMING...AMOUNTS AND TO A LESSER EXTENT SNOW LEVELS.
THE MODELS ARE ALL OVER THE PLACE STARTING AS EARLY AS THURSDAY.
Flippin sweet! Models including Victoria's Secret in Tahoe? Yes!!!!!
Awesome. The results of all this jinxing has started to roll in.
From the Sierra Avalanche Center:
Careful out there!Quote:
The snowpack in some areas is in good condition to handle new snow loading. In other areas it is not. The existing snowpack within the forecast area is very different than the snowpack observed during February of recent winters. Significant avalanche activity is possible during the coming days.
Hopefully we'll be checking these forecasts on pow morning for the rest of the season. If that's you're routine too (or even if it's not), send these guys a few bucks - they still haven't raised enough money to pay for their budget for this year.

All clear here in the Banana Belt of IVGID.
Patience. It's not supposed to hit until this afternoon.
WE'll be ok as long is it dosn't rain all the way to the top. NO stop to the storms in the 10 day forecast. Right now playing Geek, Dweeb, or Spaz with the snow globe group, what a fun game to play.
ok......this storm is obviously a warm one and we're all praying that it's snow above 7000 and no rain.
but.......the temps are dropping as of saturday night and what's the forcast for after this storm? NOAA is saying chance of snow showers through wednesday, but sometimes it says that and when the time rolls around, snow showers turn into snow dumps. Are we supposed to get some weather from the north perhaps? Looks like there is another low pressure gradient behind the one that's movin in right now.
Fingers are crossed!!! Lets get some guaranteed blower from the gulf of alaska!
:yourock:
Good news is the high pressure's gone bye bye and the storm door is wide open. Short term doesn't look good for snow, especially at lake level. What's lurking and what may come to visit next week only time will tell. At least the Rose groomers won't be hardpack tomorrow AM.
I just drove up into squaw and it was snowing lightly.
No rain.
It's looking nasty at Rose now. Yes!
It's dumping at the base of Squaw right now!!!!!:D
snowing at 6200 right now.
It's doing almost nothing at the base of Kirkwood right now! :(
Currently snowing in kirkwood. At least out the window I'm looking out of.
I'm sorry mr. woo, but if you had read the fine print you would see that the guarantee is only valid until the weather changes.
Quote:
KIRKWOOD CONDITIONS GUARANTEE!
Kirkwood is backing its best conditions message with a guarantee. Other Tahoe resorts may report great conditions, but Kirkwood is so confident about its conditions there's a guarantee. Until weather conditions change, guests who purchase lift tickets Sundays - Thursdays and report conditions are not better than any other Tahoe resort will receive one free lift ticket valid for another day!
