Heard of "soft openings" for stores and websites? This is a soft closing. There won't be a forum in their new grand tshirt website but if they effectively drive users away then there will be far fewer to complain when the hard close comes.

I find my experience really depends on the particular sub reddit I'm on. r/Portland is snarky and mean but often funny. When I lived in Spokane, I found r/Spokane was mainly friendly and helpful. r/TGRrefugees will hopefully be an accurate distilling of the padded room: snarky, helpful, funny, sometimes meanQuote:

Reddit seems like a rabbit hole I wouldnt want to go down. I generally ignore it whenever a link comes up in search results. It has always seemed hard to follow even from a question down to subsequent replies.

It seems to be quite selective. I have noticed there are multiple posters that have no problems with apostrophes. Alas, it would seem that I’m not one of them.

I think apostrophe acceptance depends on which platform is used for the post. I’ve just stopped using apostrophes and i have to spell out numbers
All three of mine were on iPhone.
tapatalk seems to have no issues with apostrophes but desktop hates em.

Nah, I think it’s which reply box you use and if it has a WYSIWYG editor or not. If it’s a plain input field with no WYSIWYG editor formatting toolbar then it’ll generally post just fine. Gotta use BBcode for formatting though.Quote:

I get fuckered apostrophes when typing on the desktop web access. When I open/edit that fuckered apostrophe post on the app on my phone (don’t even need to retype; just “edit” & save), it fixes the apostrophe problem
