If they haven't spliced a haul rope that means they still need to load a bunch of chairs, load test and get a sign off. No way that happens inside a week.

I'd say it will be maybe possible to have lift open by first weekend in December.

I have no clue how long it takes to certify and if they have to schedule some kind of specialized certifier or what, and have them fly in or something...

Agreed, and if you can't figure out how to ski on a crowded trail with ski racers doing drills (meaning you're an idiot or you just suck), then you get an extra bag of dicks.

All of this is true, and again, I've been on the other side of this numerous times--freeskiing crowded WROD places with race teams, and just like everyone else who isn't skiing the way you'd prefer you just deal with it. Never had an issue, or even close to an issue, but the Abay douchebag quotient was just way too high for things to work well.

Same routine at Sunday River right now and so much better. No bags of dicks necessary here, even with less terrain open.

If it actually snows, the place has a lot of good skiing to be had. It just doesn't happen all that often that we get a base built up and then get fresh snow on top without either a non crystalline precip event, a thaw/freeze cycle, or both.

This is my first season without unlimited Abasin access. Usually Len is open in Nov and very often Pali in Dec. I rather enjoy a few early season days... used to be at LL when the separate basin pass didn't throw a monkey wrench in my pass calculus. No LL pass. One behaves differently when days are limited. I only have 1 basin day and 1 Key day in because BME and the Marm are meh... No Len. Lucky to ski in Oct/Nov at all, but I've been biking and enjoying the ocean.

This will be my first season in a long time not skiing Abasin and nothing has made me regret that decision more than this thread. I miss my bags of dicks.

obviously dex is not being honest and using getting run over by team summit as an excuse

a) ran into some front range punks or newly minted locals who had twenty days in by mid nov. he was upset that they had more stoke and coolness than he did and they acted like they owned the place
b) realized he sucks as skiing
c) showed up expecting wall to wall skiing and got one icy run
d) some crusty basin local put him in his place for being a dip shit

all the gapers went home and the place as empty yesterday

Yesterday was so nice, at Copper, but this thread is fun. :0
