Started to mess around and booked multiple reservations on the same day.
seems a little foolish to allow anyone to make a reservation regardless of proof of pass purchase.
edit: got the same email as noted above about parking reservation limit reached. was really getting excited to sell parking on the black market that is KSL this winter and start racking it in

UAC is suggesting a common radio frequency depending on which drainage you're in for group to group and emergency communications. Apparently Telluride started this a few years ago with good results.

Interesting idea. I like it, but I’m notoriously pessimistic when it comes to these things. I will be bringing the radios into the BC this year now. Will this only work on the BCA’s or do your generic Motorola or midland radio freq’s sync up?

Every two way radio, walkie talkie, whatever you want to call it generally operates in the FRS (Family Radio Service) Frequency Bandwidth. The main channel 1-16 is the same across all manufacturers and has a corresponding frequency. The privacy tone is a secondary frequency. If you're on Channel 1 with no subchannel selected or the standard 0, you will hear everybody on that channel but they won't necessarily be able to hear you. If you're on channel 1 subchannel 2, you will only hear other users on channel 1 subchannel 2.

The BCAs I believe you can use the dial on the shoulder to flip between four favorite channels and then use the screen to swap between the rest.
This has proven to work in Telluride, but I'm curious how it'll work with this many users and this large of a population base. I'm imagining lots of unnecessary chatter, people forgetting to switch frequencies as they cross the ridge, and still seeing 10 people skiing on top of each other on the South Face.
I think it has a lot of potential, and it works well with radios like the link that you can easily switch frequencies. With that being said, I kind of agree that the Wasatch has so many users, and a lot of people aren't super well-versed in radio etiquette.
i'm all for it just for the call sign potential. do we just use our tgr handle or....?
My confidence in the general public being able to make concise radio comms without walking all over each other constantly is low.

Having experienced the absolute junkshow that is radio coms within groups of 12 to 20 while on several hut trips I can't imagine the catastrophe that would be a common radio frequency, even if you narrowed it down to individual drainages. The twice-daily valuable nugget of info will be drowned out by endless streams of useless drivel from people coordinating their gnar gnar drops down the Black Knob or discussing the proper spot to put a kickturn up Cardiac. Even if 2Dogs had its own frequency you'd never be manage to get a word in sideways. People don't have the discipline and will ramble on about what they think matters.
