I have been on a native trout kick lately, which has required significant journies away from the beaten path. So much of the water in CT and RI is stocked to the brim with non-natives that finding native brook trout is part of the fun. The state police, however, have been less excited about finding my vehicle parked on the side of the highway

First fish of 2019. Not much of a hotel/resort fan (was with the wifey in Belize) but $2.50 beers and bones made me reconsider slightly.

Good timing on the Cuba trip. I read yesterday that the State Dept. (or whatever agency it is) has rescinded most of relaxed rules allowing USers to legally visit Cuba. I should have gotten my ass down there in the last few years but hadn't pulled it off yet.
