Not my favorite guy. Or pitcher.
Well, Sanchez is having a nice night.
It just got interesting.
Yankee pussies. Can dish it out but too much butthurt to take it. Dirty players.
Who's the fat fucking Yankees coach who thnks he's a badass?
I can’t recall that much of an actual fight against the Yankees in recent memory? That felt more actually violent than Arod/ varitek affair, at least.
And yeah, why did they give the 3rd base coach manager-level ejection whine time?
Well Im glad Judge didn't hit anyone.
Price is well enough to throw seeds in his mouth apparently.
Austin needs to work on his charge the mound technique. Ya look like an idiot when you charge out there and then promptly trip and fall flat on your face in front of the pitcher. Am I alone in wanting to see a pitcher pick up the rosin bag and fastball it into a guys face when he runs out to the mound? Has that ever happened? That would be so awesome.
I like the way he threw his mitt. Guess he left his purse in the dugout
i just watched the slide, it was a little sloppy but hardly a pete rose career ender. both teams look like complete millionaire cry babies
That was a key spot in the game with a limited bullpen left on a 2-1 count. Would be a really weird time to try and hit a guy.
Legal doesn’t mean it was clean.
They had good analysis of the slide on NESN last night during the game. As it happened, the slide was legal. But if Holt had thrown, or had tried to throw, the ball to first, then the slide would have been illegal because that type of slide is illegal when the intent is to break up a double play. Since there was no throw there was no attempt at a double play and the slide was legal.
It begs the question, would there have been a throw to first absent the slide and contact? Hard to say. It doesn't look like Holt made an attempt to throw but maybe it was because he just got caught in the ankle. MLB in their wisdom decided he wouldn't have thrown the ball even if he hadn't been hit in the ankle. How, one may wonder, the fuck do they know that? Murky waters.
And of course Kelly plunked the fucker on purpose. Kelly can easily throw 100+. He didn't. Austin should have accepted it and sat down and shut the fuck up.
something was in the Gatorade last night- Rox and Padres had a huge bench-clearer yesterday over hit-by-pitches: http://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/2...-setting-brawl
Reportedly Nevin, the third base coach, was blowing up like that in response to something Cora said to him to the affect of ‘go back to your sandbox,’ lol.
A lot of code line stepping in that game
The funniest part to me is always the bullpens running in. Last night there's two groups of guys running next to each other to get to the fight. If the pitchers want to fight why don't they just fight in the outfield and skip the running?
Tight one
Just left the b's game I'll have more analysis on the slide and tonight's game tomorrow
Ps I like Kelly more I still think he throws 99mph cockshots on a regular basis and get him the FUCK out of the 8th or 9th inning
Got a little tighter in the 9th until Kimbrel slammed the door.
Agreed on Kelly, I hate seeing him out there in pressure situations. But in the middle innings he does throw smoke.
that leprechaun was really throwing seeds out there!
Yankees lose, thaaaaa Yankees lose!
Well that sucked. Gray is so inconsistent. Yanks need another starter for the back end. Porcello looked good.
Yeah I'm optimistic about Porcello, he's proven he can do it when he's right, I hope he stays right this year.
Nice seeing Hicks back in the lineup, the Yanks are still going to score a lot of runs this season.
Injury bug already biting though. And Price and some of the pen worry me.
Price will be okay once it gets warm until it starts to get cold again, he'll win some games and give others guys days off and rest so hopefully they'll be good to go in crunch time. When Price is nowhere to be found.
I just saw Mookie went down, I hope he's okay.
JFC, really? He has shot out of the gates and hoping for a stellar season from one of my faves.
Changing gears, interesting observation in this article re: pace-of-play. Claiming that it isn't mound visits delaying games so much as lack of balls being put in play is steadily increasing. Think the angle is raising possibility of lowering the mound like they did back in '69.

It's the Moneyball thing. See more pitches, more walks, get to the bullpen, more pitching changes. Wait for your pitch and deliver. Go back to the mid 1990s and it's probably mid 70's
I don't think the pitching changed thing is costing viewers. Get up, get a beer, etc. it's the in between shit like way more pitches, time between pitches, etc.
Combine that MB approach with the "artistry" and no wonder things stretch on.
