'no cure for COPD.'
sadly True --
( copd) contributed to my mother's death in 2018,
though her certificate says, 'community induced Pneumonia' I believe
( she was in assisted living )
+vibes+ Harry -
nothing but great Respect for what you are doing ! Thank you, Harry ! !!
With love, my friend.

Lovely photo :-) Glad she is feeling much better.
Mom is feeling great (thanks to steroids).
[emoji322] Today was her 95th birthday [emoji322] !
Loaded up the family on my pontoon boat and went for a cruise.
Note her outfit coordinated with my boat upholstery. That is no accident. Mom has always been a girly-girl.
So glad she made a fast recovery and could enjoy this day.

I was happy to see the gift you had to share with your mom yesterday. Peace

atb to mom.
Sorry to see that Harry.
My 90 year old Dad just arrived in Seattle after a busy week visiting my sister and her husband to be in MN.
We had a two mile walk with the pup.
Then he insisted on helping with yardwork that a late WA spring needed.
Turned my back for a second and he was vacuuming my car.
I was back in the old country in May for his birthday. He still heel and toes on downshifts and gets a thrill from making tires squeal as if he was 25.
Gym three times a week, three days a week he volunteers at a Battle of Britain museum... because "he can explain what it was like"
We're going to a ball game tomorrow but he's worried about filling in the day before then.
My mom passed 15 years ago and over a late night whiskey tonight he wept about missing her.
Update 2am
She fell and hit her head on the wall. I called 911, took her to ER. Scan shows bleeding in brain.

Hoping for the best for both of you
hey, Harry -
I am very sorry to hear this ! I'm sorry...
I hope they are able to control the bleeding, and your Mom makes a quick recovery !
With love, my friend... skiJ
Sending +++++vibes
Wow that's scary. similar happened to my mom at her assisted living facility awhile ago. They found her on the floor of her apartment bleeding. She recovered fine after a couple days thankfully. Hoping mama Harry's last name gets past this one too. Medicare does sometimes cover assisted living facility fees and/or professional in home nursing 24/7 when things get unmanageable.. Something to think about
+++ vibes +++ for Harry's Mom !!!
That's All (Folks) ! !!! skiiJ

wanker weds what up
hopes moms doing well
my old mans overall health and hapiness are way improved from last summer
continuies to decline cognitively
but thats how the circle goes
Update: drove Mom to Mayo for Neurologist appointment. No current bleeding in her brain from the fall and she passed all tests. Still some blood in brain, but they say it is getting absorbed.
My brother urged me to GTFO for a few days while he watched over her. I think he thought I might go to Duluth and chill for a day or two, instead I drove to Big Sky and had lunch with my buddy Talisman. During lunch his phone rang and it was Djongo. I called my brother and added a day to my trip and headed to Jackson. Whirlwind 6 day break from caring for Mom, I needed it. 2 days driving, 1 day in Big Sky, 1 day in Jackson, and 2 days driving back. Sounds dumb, but I got a good mental reset.
Mom is stabilized for now and life is good.
Thanks for all PM’s and vibes. I was going nuts for awhile.

^ Good news.
Very good news, sorry to have missed ya.
Glad to hear that, Harry.
w000t!!!
Glad to hear she's doing all right, Harry.
Just got back from a trip to visit my dad (90) and my wife's parents (her dad is 85). My dad is doing remarkably well all things considered, her dad is not doing well, can barely walk due to balance issues and falls once or twice a day. Won't use a walker. They live in an old three-story home with NO BATHROOM on the main floor. I'm afraid it's only a matter of time until he hurts himself in a fall. Really sad to see, just up until a few years ago he was a hardcore road biker.
My wife's sister is pressuring the folks to move out of the old house, but they don't want to. Lots of stress between siblings right now over this issue.
Nice break, Yay that mom's doing better! Did you get some waffles? I had to buy my wife a jacket up at Corbetts because she refused to believe me when I told her how much colder it was going to be up there in the summer. "I'll be fine like this"... Uhhh I doubt that but let's go get on the tram..

other than that this shit sucks
been trying to not take his independence and he keeps telling us he has things handled
But it turns out he doesnt the truck insurance premiums didnt git paid and he got into what he says was a minor fender bender yesterday
in a way im kinda relieved we'd been having the continue to drive argument.
And now its out of our hands and i can go git his keys today, not feel bad about it and were done worrying about that problem
Sell the truck pay for the other motorist damage and move on
One day my mom left to drive herself to a hair salon less than a mile from her apartment and ended up completely lost and calling from a McDonalds 45 minutes away. Fortunately she still had the wherewithal to agree it was time to give up on driving. It was definitely a logistics challenge to arrange all her transportation during the following year before she moved to fully assisted living.
Enjoy every minute you can before the dementia fully takes over. It's a full blown nightmare after that happens.
My friend had a full on battle with her father when they took away his driving privileges. They had to get the doctor to convince him still he was madder than a wet hen. When they got home from the doctor he got on ever piece of farm equipment he had and drove it around the property in a rage.
Fortunately for me my mother was easily convinced. I flat out told her she wasn't going to drive anymore and that was was that. She hadn't had any incidents but it was only a matter of time IMO.
Not driving anymore is a hard bridge to cross. I don't want my mom driving the 2 hours to see us anymore, so I visit her once a month. I keep suggesting 2 hours is to far with her having only 1 eye that works well and maybe she is finally getting my message, but the push back is always there. I wish we had trains in this country. (the closest station is 40 minutes from her)
When I moved from Seattle to W2 I convinced my mother to make the move too. 5hrs away was just too much esp. since it involved crossing a mountian pass that can be pretty bad during the winter. There is air service from Seattle to W2 which would have been doable had 9/11 never happened.
Anyhoo... I got her into the independent side of nice retirement facility. At the time she was still driving and it was fine. When the time came for her to stop driving it was made all the easier because of where she lived - they have a shuttle service. W2 also has super cheap Dial-a-ride and free bus service for seniors. The benefits of a small town.
