Well, it is Boston

Twins with a breath of life this year. Sano is legit. The Twins version of "Big Pappi". Santana on Cy Young pace too. Fun to watch him pitch.
Playing hookie from work tomorrow to take in the day game. Gibson on the mound for us. Big L coming. Oh well. Weather will be nice.
Nice. Have fun out there! I'd love to catch a game at Target Field. Seems like a really nice ballpark on TV
Oh, Give Me A Fucking Break

Here is an excerpt from The MMQB’s big feature about Tim Tebow attempting to become a baseball player. I haven’t been able to read the rest of the story, because as soon as I read this part my eyes rolled so far into the back of my head that now all I can see is my own brain stem:
Van Wagenen humored him. He organized a workout for Tebow in Florida alongside a few Cuban prospects, and after putting Tebow through a series of hitting drills, he came away … impressed. Tebow’s swing clearly needed work, but when he connected, he could really drive the ball. After watching a few drills, Van Wagenen asked Tebow if he wanted to stop. He had seen enough, and Tebow hadn’t swung in a while; his hands must have been sore. But Tebow shook him off and kept swinging. He would show Van Wagenen how badly he wanted this. Not until the workout ended did Van Wagenen notice the red seeping through Tebow’s batting gloves. He had taken so many swings that blisters on his hands had burst open, and he’d just kept going. Tebow peeled off the gloves. Blood was gushing from his palms.
Kill me.
2 from the Sux. 2/3 from O's and Toronto. I'll take it
Admittedly, some bad history, and that shit at Fenway was beyond asinine. So embarrassed by those complete douche bags. Front page news across the country. WTF Boston???!
All I can say is, I've been to a ton of games and sat in the bleachers many times, but never saw anything like that. It's fun to banter with Yankee fans, etc., but getting racist is is so fucking low. Obviously we still have some trash that needs taking out. A very cool random guy I met while flying from Chicago today suggested that they publish their names and ban them from all major league parks. I agree. So ashamed.
What a fucking shitshow in Boston this week!
Now you got Baltimore's starter getting tossed after losing a fucking 77mph curveball softly into a Sox' back?
Yeah, things got a little out of control. Dude getting tossed tonight was a definite mistake, but they should have tossed the guy that drilled Mookie the other night, so I think it evens out.
They tossed a guy from the stands last night for using a slur against another fan, and that guy has to go explain himself to the hate crime division of the Boston PD. Might just take making an example out of a few of them to get this bullshit to stop.
Fan hit by stray bullet at Cards game.

I'm not a Red Sox fan, but I could listen to Dave O'Brien and Eck every night
No joke: if you're a fan of baseball on the radio (I clearly am, or I wouldn't be saying this), you should check out a Cincinnati Reds broadcast with Marty Brennaman and "The Cowboy" Jeff Brantley one night.
I do a lot of road-trippin during MLB season and listen to a lot of games and while I'm always gonna tune into future Ford Frick winner Tom Hamilton and my Tribe, Marty and the Cowboy (previously Marty and Joe Knuxhall (youngest ever MLB player at 15) or Marty and his son Thom on Brantley's off nights) offer some of the best analysis and just good ol' fashioned back and forth I've ever heard in baseball.
Honestly aside from Votto and Arroyo I have no clue who the Reds have on their team these days but the broadcasts are still extremely entertaining.
MLB At Bat app FTW.
Reds radio?
This is the aaron judge thread now, get it right.
I know the TGRz are a different place now, but I think we can branch out from solely Yanks-Sox banter. ;)
I won't subject y'all to my analysis of the Bravos duo of Powell and Sutton.
Tom Hamilton has the best home run call in baseball. I will say that with no abandon.
Yankees and Cubbies today
Wait, nobody likes John and Susan?
Waldman blows.
I prefer her (and anyone else) to Sterling. Actually, do you remember Al Trautwig? That guy was even worse. Amazing that in a metro area of 30M people they can't find anyone better to describe what the fuck is happening in a baseball game. I'd rather listen En Sap and pretend I can speak Spanish.
Remy and Orsillo were the absolute best combo of all time.

Been watching this crazy Sox-Twins game all afternoon, 9 runs so far in the ninth? Wow.
14 batters so far in this inning.
I'm no Yanks fan for sure but this bottom half of the 9th has been highly entertaining. WS preview?
And the Yankees in 18
I passed out somewhere in the 14th
Saw an article today talking 'what if' on the subject of what regular season ties might look like. Like after 12 or 13 innings, call it done. You know, I consider myself kind of a purist, but I can't say I would be all that against it. Yeah yeah, kissing your sister and whatnot, but fuck, there is 162 games. If you are getting screwed at the end because of a tie, well, tough. I mean, how many 13+ inning games are there/year? Nevermind, I don't really care how many cuz it's not much. Plate a damn run against the 5th reliever or suck it.
Yankees on a roll
I thought for sure that there was no way in hell that the Yanks would be able to win a game after playing till 2:15am then getting on the road to Cincinnati to play the Reds later that evening.
Vegas cleaned up on that one.
I mean, they're still the Reds

I agree with the article. This epic games are pretty rare. No rules changes are needed.Quote:
But the facts don't back that up — which is just one reason, and only the most superficial of them, why MLB's latest idea to speed up the game is a misguided one. In 2016, there were 185 extra-inning games out of a total of 2,428 games played, or 7.6 percent. Of those 185, nearly two-thirds (122) ended in 10 or 11 innings, and just eight (4.3 percent) lasted 15 innings or longer.
They can fuck up a bullpen pretty good for a while.
I think the rule change for auto IBB's is stupid especially using speeding up game time as the reason. But if they made a reasonable rule change for tie's after a certain inning limit, I wouldn't be all that upset.
Plate a damn run!
But yeah. Managers earning their keep...or their walking papers.
