Having binge listened to “Slide” season 1, my strategy with this podcast is similar to the dumb guy in school who slept with the textbook under his head to absorb knowledge.
My take is you’re pretty big on situational awareness, Covert. I like that about you. Although I’m surprised you hike with headphones.
Going back to Japan this year?
Sometimes it's nice to wear headphones. If I have a reason not to wear them, I don't. They often spend the whole day in my pocket 'cause I like the sound of the wind too. Frequently when I'm listening to podcasts I'm thinking instead of listening, so there's no point in wearing them anyhow.Quote:

I just got some blue tooth headphones am addicted. I will probably wear them when touring solo. I got some flak about wearing them in bear country when bike riding and hikiing. But I equate the conditions if you don't see the danger before you hear it than it's too late.
Is season 3 going to be dropping soon?
I can be such a luddite, in no small part due to information overload.
I've been tracking this thread since the onset, but only this week did I make peace it (info overload) and installed a podcast app on my android.
All I can say is wow! This is great stuff.

Yup. I'll relisten to every episode this fall. I've read and reread a whole lot on the topic and I think this podcast does a better job than anything else at bringing out the humility that helps us not die in the mountains. Thank you.Quote:

So, it's been a crappy off-year and hopefully I'll be on skis this coming Fall. I got out of my normal groove and re-listened to the series now instead of October.
