Feel a little bad saying a day in 7" over boilerplate was good, but it really wasn't bad anywhere and I laid first tracks in several obvious stashes after noon, so considering the way the year has gone I'll take it. Wind was starting up in the afternoon, so probably fresh drifts/more freshies out of the trees for tomorrow. But yeah, it's going to be a mess. Maybe there's some sidecountry?

I 2nd Jono's reply. It was good...not awesome. The hard base seemed more noticeable in front, but the back was pretty good. I took 1 run off Stella to get back to 6, and even it was better than I would have thought. I didn't make it over to the Triple.Quote:

Silver went off today. Guessing a total snow fall of 20+" of light and fluffy pow. Wardner was all time when the sun came out just in time for me to drop the spine. Over the knee turns to the bottom. North Face Glades was thigh deep and delicious. Legs are spent from going full throttle bell to 3. Place was a fuckin ghost town to boot.

Yes they are! They just love to RAGE, fits my style. Local resorts are a little tight in the trees as these like to go fast and prefer big turns, me too. Might switch to a pintail design next season, little quicker in the trees and able to shut down a little easier. Will more than likely keep these though and just pile on the skis.Quote:

Went off the top of the triple at Schweitzer on Saturday. Stability is sketchy so we kept it real mellow. Still fun and it was a great day to hike. First went down the NW facing line looking at Ulita Ridge. We were the only tracks on that aspect and it was really nice. Hiking up and looking over at the NE face of Ulita Ridge, right under the cornice, which is getting quite large, there was a group of 'bilers high-marking the face right under the cornice. I guess these guys don't read the bulletins. I was nearly certain we were going to see a slide but they dodged a bullet.
We then headed toward Solar Ecstasy and took that. The last pitch of that was sun affected but above that, awesome! Here's the only picture I have of the day.

Here is an inbounds video from last Friday. Schweitzer reported 1" of new but with the wind and cold temps Thursday night, it filled in nicely. There was a good foot of untracked fluff in R1 when we hit it first thing. Here's our day, very compressed.

2/28/14 – Friday Mission Ridge mission. Got our Mission Ridge weekday passes that they are issuing for Snoq Gold passholders this season. Lined up and loaded chair #15 at a couple of minutes before 0900. Calm on the hill except for early AM along the top ridge. Weather was mostly cloudy with several sun breaks that got larger and sunnier as the day went on. Not very cold though, just below freezing. Spent the day in the west side Bomber cliffs pod and on the wide & groomed runs since that’s where the good carving snow was. Off piste was…crusty and crunchy, so was the eastern side of the hill. (Good for the racing teams though.) We even dropped down to the bottom runs Mimi, Bypass, and Summer Road for a warming break. Glad we went east, heard Crystal was socked in and crusty, and Snoq was fogged in when we drove over the pass in the morning. Fun, fun, fun was had by all. TomK & Kerry

We put 2 down that side. Gained the ridge, skinned up to the highest spot and skied a north facing shot. Humped back over to the ridge and skied one out where you skied. All that and still back to the car by 1:30. Wish we always had the coverage at those lower elevations! Yo-yo'ing in the INW what?! I'd like to be up there today...Lookout is reporting 14"!Quote:
