Fuck Mtbr. The epicski of biking
I found mtbr several years ago when I was getting back into biking from a long lay off.
Lernt aboot Fat bikes and got hooked on that shit.
Yeah, they get into sum stupid shit. Almost as bad as TGR.

There's currently a thread about PED use in local MTB races that is pretty entertaining.
Best MTBR thread of the decade:

Pretty cool project from an enginerd POV.
I just went over to mtbr to see what was hot for this year, evidently sucking ass is still in style.
How did it taste?
This just in -- MTBR is circling the drain and nobody is debating much of anything there.
Holy shit they have a lot of subforums.
This was amusing as much for the star-struck MTBRers needing to write a fucking essay about some interaction with a well known biker 20 years ago, as it was amusing that it devolved into the inevitable MTBR pissing match and bickering.

"You're still living in the Matrix. I took the red pill and know what's up. #wokeAF"
Appears to have been said non-ironically.
Maybe this time they'll finally decide what constitutes "epic"

Too lazy to link it but I saw a thread in which one of the high rep posters (green chiclets right?) explained that there’s no benefit to a low BB. So higher the better.
Funny shit
Seems like there are only a dozen or so people over there now.
Why you make me look?
I hate mountainbikers!
Newsflash! Today at MTBR: A group of owners of $7000 bikes are upset about paying Trailforks $3....

$1.50 if you sign up by Sep. 30, locked in for as long as you remain a member.
How many devices is that $1.50 membership good for?
I was wondering just last week why/how Trail Forks is free. It's not a simple thing.
It’s like open snow. They gather data and I pay them for ease of use. Seems reasonable to me

I have paid far more money for things I use far less. Happy to pay for trailforks.
Also, mtb project is useless if your state isn't named, or adjacent to, Colorado.
Wonder if I can move my home zone twice a year or something...
I like TF more than MTBP, but not subscription $ more. If I can do monthly, I might pay $3 at some point on a trip. If no monthly, I'll never plop down $ for a year round sub on a product I use 6mo a year, which is why I won't pay for Strava.
Wait it's $3 a month or year? I don't see anything on the app or Playstore about a fee..
Where is everyone seeing this about Trailforks? I can't find anything about paid subscriptions (which I would 100% buy) on the website, the app, via Google, or in my email. Website still advertises the app as totally free.
It sounds like they’re making the announcement on Monday. It’s been a soft rollout and announcement. I saw it on an app update during the middle of last week, and they’ve communicated some of the details to admins.
You might have seen the 70% off flash sale on TF merchandise at Pinkbike. Trailforks has spun off and are independent now.
Guess I'll be using mtbproject exclusively now. Good thing I live in Colorado!

Im kinda surprised at the resentment of charging for something that cost money to create and manage.
What would a subscription cost if TF had to pay for all of the imagery/basemaps and GPS infrastructure? The consumable geospatial data in this country for apps like this, that is essentially free, is pretty cool.
