I can't believe how lax these dudes look while while maching through exposed stuff on hardpack. That backflip caused me to spit coffee.
(tech talk) - anyone know what the green skis are that a few people were riding?
My uninformed unedumucated guesstimate is the new B4'sQuote:

Gotta love the guy on the left (With the monsters). "Damn, man, I'm so cool I might fuckin' freeze".

Most of the green skis you see are the Squad 91's and Squad 98's... Most of the frenchies as well as some others had them.
This one is my favorite.
ROCK SOLID - Gotta respect these competitors and their love for the sport.
P. S. How about the girl in blue?

i had my 194 stockli's up next to some 198 squads w/ a biglines.com sticker on them and i actually had more surface running length on mine. the squads have a long ass shovel that takes away from the surface area. my guess is that the tail on those isn't much better either. they look like a pretty burly ski anyway.Quote:

I just glad a girl I ski with (Kelly Holland), is okay. She tumbled all the way down North Chute on Day 2 and did not break a thing, just got bruised up. She is a fun skier to ride with, she is a girl that skis like a guy. Does not hold back for anything. She has Ingrid Backstrom-like skiing qaulities. If you see a 5'3" riper on 176 gotamas blowing by you at Snowbird that is her, she is a blast to ski with.
kelly always steps up when i see her out. i watched parker scope a huck on a low vis day and say "i don't know" just as kelly launches it into a straight line thru the cirque. she is one of the hottest ripper chicks at the bird. she also used to date the captain. i kinda try to respect fact that they may still be hooking up but that's hard to do when she gets that big smile going.
Thanks for the grabs, apd.
why can't I see the pics?Quote:

Anyways, nice videos, thanks for posting those up.
what the fuck!?!

That is a large backflip...
I think that's exactly what he thought as he arched his back at the top of the takeoff. :biggrin:Quote:

It's a shame that Cody Barnhill did not make it to the finals, watch his runs on BigLines.com and view for yourself, he was throwing proggressive tricks off almost every air. I work with that guy in Alta and he kills it, plain and simple.
The judges were tring to be TOO TECHNICAL.
Hopefully Cody will do really good in Kirkwood. Tahoe guys check this guy out when the comp is there.
I agree with Altaholic (can't believe I do) Cody's lines were smaooth and sweet, but its all subjective.
On a side note, saw Ben tonight, hugs and congrats exchanged (hopefully doesn't sound too cheesy or spray'ey). Same ol' Ben; super mellow; super humble and thankful for everything he has endured and worked so hard to get where he is right now. He deserves every bit of it and whatever comes his way in the very near future. :)
Huare killed it on her last run and really should have gotten first place. No offense to Kit DesLauriers, but Huare's run was better hands down. Not to mention that she skis with a bum hip and that particular run was hopped up on Percocet just so that she could make it down, let alone stomp every landing along the way.Quote:

I think that it is fair to say that you could say that about nearly every comp. Too subjective...sometimes the judges are sober and other times they aren't. What they base their line score off of varies...and sometimes I swear they just weren't paying attention.Quote:

Holy shit! Just noticed that Craig Garbiel from Kirkwood got the Sickbird award!!! Yeah Craig!!!!
Anybody know what he did to get it?
Holy crap! I skied with Asia Jenkins years ago at Aspen. She kills it and I'm stoked she's ripping so well at the big comps! Go Asia!
Not "Go Asian," Punani.
Those green skis were mostly Rossi Squads (91s and 98s). The B4 looks similiar, but I didnt see anybody competing on them. For more info on the Squads there is some stuff in Tech Talk...
Edit: Sorry if I had read page 6 instead of skipping it, I would have known someone already answered this question....
She's been around the comps for a while. I had her sign my stepson's helmet seven years or so ago at the KW comp.Quote:

Great article, I originally missed the sidebars: here's a cool slideshow of pics. Good captions, and only slightly "dumbed down" for the masses. I think they did a great job with that. Plus, like, skier chicks are like wicked hot and stuff. :biggrin:Quote:
