That's a pretty sweet score to add to your kayak quiver!! What model?

New Wave Forplay. 10’6” long and not a sinker/mystery move boat. More of a squashed half slice. Wicked fast surfer!
Yes, but I’ve been selling off some boats this Summer. Currently have
Prijon Hurricane
Necky Rip
2 Dagger RPM’s
Perception Madness(bigger Method Air)
Perception Mr Clean
Riot Grind
New Wave Foreplay
…and a Dagger Mamba as a no excuses “modern” boat.
Nice to cool off on a hot day.
No action shots because we were both busy paddling any rapids, but my best friend from college recently got off a two year stint teaching in China and had a month stateside before going off to another gig in Egypt. He wanted to get out on a river so plans were hatched for the lower Salmon. Unfortunately, fire nixed that idea so we settled on the lower Klamath in far Northern California. We ended up doing about 65 river miles over three days from 30 something miles above Happy Camp down to the Green Riffle takeout. The water was low and the weather was hot so pools were trying at times but there was enough class II and III to keep life interesting. Good peaceful evening camps and lots of wildlife also didn't hurt.

Love this spot… had it all to myself this morning and surfed for 40 minutes straight until my feet fell asleep. A friend showed up and snapped a pic while driving by. I eddied out, had a quick visit, and then back out for another 20 minute ride. Stoked

Another great day… this time with a friend and a solid wave shoulder to drive off
Mind sharing the location so I can dweeb out on maps? PM ok if you dont want it in the open.
Not sure where to put this, but yesterday, in between Bay Area storms, the numbers looked right for paddling San Jose CA's Guadalupe River, class 1-2 (more like 2-1, as the rockin' wave action was all early on).

I don't think this one gets floated that often. Though apparently some people go and surf the small concrete ledge that's in the entry to the 880 overpass (didn't see anyone when I splashed over it). The mid-section of the run, the few miles after passing the San Jose airport, had a lot of brush garden hassles and subsequent portages. Most of it was fun though.
That's I-280 in the top photo, along with its interchange with Hwy 87 which the river parallels much of the way. The vid was a bit further along, near downtown SJ.
Water was up in the Salt. Lucked out and got invited on a trip with a good crew.

East, Huh? #2 looks kinda Selway-esque but that's North from ya.
We did the Green River's Flaming Gorge/ Red Canyon 'A' and 'B' sections a couple days ago; here's my kid threading between a hole on his left and a wave on his right:

Which reminds me: Anybody want to do Desolation-Gray next week (Tuesday - Sunday)? I have room on my permit.
We musta just missed you - our crew ran Flaming Gorge A & B from 8/26 - 8/28, then floated the flatwater of Section C on 8/29 to Gates of Lodore for a permit that was for Weds. 8/30 - Sun. 9/3.
Absolutely epic trip - we camped at Kolb, Wild Mountain, Jones Hole, and Big Island - the canyons were beautiful, and the whitewater was sick!! We ran 6 packrafts, one play boat, and a 16' oar rig, the gang had a blast. Got pitted in Hell's Half, one of my buddies got tossed off the side of Lucifer.
We could see the higher water lines, I imagine that section of the Green is insane during heavy flows.
Pic below from Big Island at the end of Whirlpool Canyon.

Awesome! We had a great time doing Deso. It was nice to be out on such a beautiful, remote stretch of river, and to have it (usually) all to ourselves.
Here's Mz Bobz, and our rigs:

I think this one's Coal Creek rapid; there were a few sort of like this, where there was an entry to get right (in this case, go between the pour-over rock and some holes on the right), and everything is fine from there:

Tomorrow, I return to the Flaming Gorge area to do the 'C' part and the rest of the way to Gates of Lodore. All part of this year's project to do the whole thing from the dam to the confluence (though not in order). After that, it's just Stillwater left to do.

Approx 60Kcfs in the confluence.
