Feb 5-10, 2004, Fly to SLC, we will thow you in a random maggots house, we ski 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10 and then we rest for the summit in Tahoe.

We will hit Alta/Snowbird/Snowbasin. Not in that order.

There, now come to Utah!! :D

AND CONTINUE INTO THE WEEKEND. A COLD FRONT IS EXPECTED TO BRING
RAIN...SNOW AND WIND ON CHRISTMAS. THERE IS UNCERTAINTY AS TO HOW
QUICKLY THIS SYSTEM WILL REACH OUR AREA...BUT AT THIS TIME IT IS
POSSIBLE THAT SIGNIFICANT SNOWFALL MAY OCCUR LATE CHRISTMAS EVE
INTO FRIDAY. ONCE THE COLD FRONT ARRIVES SNOW LEVELS WILL DROP TO THE
VALLEY FLOORS ACROSS NORTHERN AREAS. THIS IS EXPECTED TO OCCUR
EITHER ON THURSDAY OR THURSDAY NIGHT. THIS BOUNDARY MAY STALL OVER
CENTRAL UTAH THURSDAY NIGHT BEFORE SWEEPING THROUGH SOUTHERN UTAH
EARLY FRIDAY. MUCH COLDER TEMPERATURES AND PERIODS OF SNOW ARE
FORECAST OVER THE WEEKEND.

THE STORM COULD BRING SIGNIFICANT SNOW TO THE MOUNTAINS OF UTAH...

Altachic and I are thinking of all meeting up after skiing Friday at Goldminers Daughter Pub at Alta, after we all ski Alta or Snowbird that day, and drink, meet everyone and be merry. I still need to talk with her about this, but I like the plan.

Anyone else like this??

not that anyone reads this anymore, but...i'm trying to make some solid plans of where to meet on friday, so that you folks will know where to meet.
Goldminers after skiing friday. We'll all meet, chat, enjoy each others company and get ourselves up to GT40's for a ripping 2 days at the basin. more to come as we get closer to feb.

that sounds like a hot move to me...well...as long as Goldminer's daughter is at the base lodge or something. Is the bar at the base lodge? Don't you have to eat food if you are going to drink in Utah? Somebody told me they had to buy an orange before the barteder would serve them. I guess I could probably afford and orange.

Yes, it's a snowball's throw from the Wildcat lift and right next to the parking lot.

No, but the pizza's pretty damn good.

I spent the whole day in Golminers last year for the Mini as my knee had a boo-boo. Ask any Mini goer last year as to how I liked Goldminers!!! :rolleyes: :eek:

If one were to get a hotel room, where would be the most logical place (i.e. closest to all the maggot festivities)? Sandy is close to the canyons, but there's more going on near downtown. Right? Any suggestions?

Theres a ton of stuff off I-215 in Midvale/Sandy area. You will be closer to the canyons, but if Chili's, Hooters, every corporate chain eating/bar etablishment isn't your bag, yeah, downtown is mo' betta. Woodsy can give some well researched and professional advise on downtown SLC.

After todays topics and the amount of snow we have, (:D)

I would like for everyone to have a whistle for the MINI!! It could help save your life or another maggot's life.

Please ski with your cellie and a radio too if possible. Make sure that some local maggots have your cellie numbers and we will need to come up with a channel for the MINI on our radios.

Of course, any avie gear would be smart too.

Just a simple safety thought. There is going to be stoke flying off the handle, so we need to keep things safe.

1. Where are you coming from? Denver
2. What dates will you be here? 5th - 8th, skiing 6,7,8th, leaving Denver on Thursday night, I will have space available to take people there or back.
3. Do you need lodging and where is preferable? I may need lodging, anywhere is good, free is best. Will bring your favorite CO beer with me to trade :)
4. Do you ski or board? (Thinking of Alta) ski but I might be bringing a boarder friend.
5. Are you going to bring a big snow storm with you?? but of course

If I end up going with both my boarder friend and my skiing buddy, then most likely we'll probably just split a hotel in Sandy. If they can't make it and I'm flying solo, I'd greatly appreciate a place to crash. I'm pretty flexible and could sleep in a snow cave if necessary, I'm mainly just looking foward to skiing. Thanks for all your work in organizing this buzz.
