"Bang Bang" by Monophonics. Much better than Nancy Sinatra's original and Cher's cover.

If only george were playing gituar
Black Keys - Have Love Will Travel is actually an Black pop song thing that White people in 1959 wouldn't have heard of done in the style of a 60's(?) pop group's cover/rip-off of it.

And now for something completely different:
The Ruth Moody Band covers The Boss like you never thought possible. Not to mention that she is way better looking.

Here's another version showing the full band playing but without the mind-bending mandolin solo:

I just came upon this thread today and haven't read the while thing, but has anyone mentioned Rage Against the Machine's cover of Maggie's Farm?
I feel like if Dylan really, really needed a few bucks, he might work on Maggie's Farm again, but Zach de la Rocha is gonna stab Maggie's family them burn the whole fucking farm.
Sex Pistols - Roadrunner probably belongs (though I really like the orig Modern Lovers album, so it might not be "better")

Sez you, I always hated the original so anything's an improvement. In fact everything after Master of Puppets kind of sucks.
All due respect to M. Berry, but I this version just screams rock from one of the classic bands at the height of their power.
