Oh! Yea, this is Julianne, you probably guessed who I was though, how is your knee doing?
Also~ I am not allergic to cats, or sleeping on floors
(Still looking for someone to carpool with!)
MAP, PM Punkmouse.
This is going to be wickedly fun. And a good trial run for next year when I'll actually be able to ski.... I think I could potentially squeeze in 5 here as well. Full bed and queen bed are up for grabs as well as some random corners. I might even turn up the heat from 50 degrees to something a little more tolerable...
I'm out.
:(
Have fun!
^^^Why???????
Avy class/car exploded Christmas day/going out of town the following weekend and cannot swing two trips because I bought a new car/NOT injured (ferociously knocking on wood)
Welp, had a carpool buddy, but then somebody *cough* decided she wasn't gonna go anymore, sooo still looking to carpool w/ someone...mostly just so I don't have to make the drive alone...your car or mine, either is fine! (I'll pitch for gas if it's your car)
MAP- PM Punkmouse!
I did! no response!
And I am back! Sorry ladies... no TGR at work makes me lame about posting ... anyways I live down in denver and def. interested in carpooling.
and YEY for cats and floor surfing
^^^ I'll be carpooling from Summit as well if you guys want to work something out.
Also, not allergic to cats, fine with sleeping on the floor. Thanks for helping out with lodging!
I'm all about a day of touring. Hopefully we'll get some new snow by then!
Maggettes, check updates on the first page :) Looking forward to it! Pray for snow!!!!
not sure if people are still looking for discounted lift tickets for the mini but a woman in the cb ticket office this weekend said that there is some coors buy one/get one free lift ticket going on. i wasn't paying attention but i think she mentionned something about buying coors beer in gunni. you can always resell the beer afterward :-)
I heard rumors that they were bringing the Coors thing back. The way it worked last year is you had to buy a 12pack of Coors at the Wet Grocer in Gunnison. It was buy-one-get-one free. It was so successful that they decided to cancel the program in the middle of the season (another bit of CBMR lameness). Bet they brought it back this year because the snow is less than par. I'll call the Wet Grocer and find out.
Okay, called the Wet Grocer in Gunnison and they confirmed that they do have 2-for-1 vouchers available when you buy an 18 or 24-pack of Coors. These aren't available for MLK weekend, President's weekend and parts of March. But, they are good for the weekend of our mini. So, I will hopefully make it down to Gunnison sometime in the next week or so and buy one of these 18-packs to get a voucher. Who else is willing to stop on the way to get an 18 pack and a voucher?
The Wet Grocer is on Tomichi, which is essentially Route 50. So, from Denver, you'll come in on this road. It is located one block before the turn for Crested Butte on the right (north) side of Tomichi. You will need to ask for the voucher upon purchase of the Coors.
Wet grocer also has artillery shells out front--hard to miss
i haven't seen this voucher but spring break tends to be blacked out out of vouchers (other co resorts are blacked out 3/12-22 or 3/19-28)
MBSC and I talked last night about making me official mini chef so I could cook one night (or maybe both) and I just wanted to check in on dietary restrictions or vegetarianism so that I can put together a menu. Then I can figure out how much cash everyone should bring for food and let you all know ahead of time.
Hey Ladies! Check updates on the front page! :)
MAP lives in Nebraska....LOL....good job sis ;)
Bump. Ladies, refer to first page, or the PM's I sent. Thanks!
As long as things work out carpooling with punkmouse, we should be there by dinner time friday I think
Ladies! Looks like the steeps are opening just in time! (FINALLY!) The few inches of snow we've accumulated every day since Thursday amounts to about two feet- just what the resort needed to start getting some stuff open!
From CBMR's FB page yesterday: The North Face T-Bar and following areas will open tomorrow at 12:00pm: Tower 11 Chutes, Avery, Belleview, Rachel’s, The Glades, The Glades Hike, Powder Rock Glade, Pinball, The North Face, Hawk’s Nest, Hard Slab, Old Pro, Sock-It-To-Me-Ridge and Last Steep. On Monday the High Lift T-Bar will open at the normal time with the following terrain: Big Chute, Paradise Cliffs, Headwall, Schofield and Upper North Star.
No work on front-side chutes, Teocalli, or Phoenix/Spellbound, but I suspect some of these will be opening later this week or next weekend!
So after all of that drama...
I'm in outpatient alcohol rehab now and certainly won't be able to escape for a full week, though I'm working on just coming for the weekend.
-Ashleigh
I just got clearance to go from work, so I'm definitely in! I'm arriving at Gunnison Airport on Friday the 5th ~ 5pm, departing Monday the 8th ~ 5:20pm. I would be very happy to contribute $$/beer/etc if anyone is driving that way with some extra room. =)
So you are in out patient rehab and you're posting about contributing to the beer fund? Weird.....
The goods are open on the mountain. More steeps continue to open (I heard them bombing Staircase, Pheonix, Spellbound today!). The resort will be good to go for the mini! I am so excited to have all of you here!
Tentative itinerary:
-Friday: everyone arrives in the evening, meeting at Avalanche (details below)
-Saturday: Ski resort
-Saturday night: Wandering, not lost will cook us dinner, assuming all agree to pitch in a few bucks for the delicious grub
-Sunday: Assuming conditions permit, do a backcountry tour
Wandering, not lost and I have only heard from one person regarding dietary requirements (no red meat), so unless she hears anything more, she will begin thinking about what she wants to cook for dinner on Saturday night.
We will be meeting at the Avalanche restaurant at the bottom of the ski area on Friday. Wandering, not lost and I hope to be there around 7-ish. I might be a bit late since I'll be coming from Silverton. I suspect we'll be there for a couple of hours, at least until 9. Can everyone make it to CB by 9-ish? The Avy is a nice, cheap, good restaurant to eat dinner and get drinks. If dinner is not in your plan with us on Friday, just meet us there for a drink or dessert.
Everyone staying with wondering, not lost or me is requested to please bring your own breakfast food. I have things like butter and soy milk. But bring your own things for breakfast and snacks. If you don't have time to buy food, you can get a good burrito and coffee at Camp 4 at the base of the ski area.
Not needing lodging: fastfroggy, corien (I assume the two of you will stop in Gunny to pick up your voucher from a liquor store and work it out between the two of you)
Others needing lodging are assigned to the following:
- Staying with me: bc, Punkmouse, Making-a-Pizza, Ann
- Staying with Wondering, not lost: SheRa, brosia, baxter
The following will pick up an 18-pack of Coors at Wet Grocer or High Mountain Liquors in Gunnison and obtain a voucher for buy-1-get-1-free tickets at the resort: brosia (to share with baxter), Making-A-Pizza (to share with Punkmouse), SheRa (to share with Ann), and I will pick up one on my way back from Silverton to be used by bc and some other random person we will find at the ticket counter.
For clarification- partners will split cost of beer/lift tix.
- Making-A-Pizza--> Skis/skins are waiting here for you for the backcountry tour
- Baxter--> Between Wondering, not lost and I, we have a backcountry set up for you, so don't worry
- Anyone else need backcountry gear?
If you have any questions or concerns please shoot me a PM.
:biggrin::biggrin::biggrin:
As for the buy-1-get-1-free tickets if you want to avoid getting one, I do get half price tickets at Cb with my Purgatory pass that way we won't need to worry about finding the random person in the lift ticket line.
Awesome! Also, just thought about this... does brosia have a discount here too? Thought she may have bought some sort of card or something....
Yeah i'm pretty sure she got the Cb card.
Okay, well scratch both of you getting the Coors deal then :)
i think i need a nickname too... i feel left out. from now on i am called loco coco.
cant' wait to meet everyone!
loco coco
SO STOKED AHHH
