Umm yeah, neither look too good. ;)
Thanks for sharing, though. That's one thing I miss about LT -- good shit to jump off. Stoked to be back at the bowl though...next time let's catch a run together.

Wrong. The picture is Stupid Rock (or Idiot Rock), so named because of the terrible landing zone with a road cut which makes for compression wipeout landings. Cape Canaveral is at the top of Griz Chute, and features a log sloping down, that some like to ride.
I saw a bomb hole beneath the rocks below Pencil Chute, anyone here deserve the credit?
Sweet pics eleskiador, but they obviously can't be from The Bowl, because we never get any good snow here.
Nope. That goes as migrane. Cape canaveral is small hit under griz chair with the lengthwise log under it.
Nice hit on idiot rock but you missed the log in the landing by about two feet. That drop has claimed a couple knees in the past. If there is enough snow I think the way to hit it is over the road, ballsy.
The bowl was sick yesterday but people turned into maniacs. I wached two middle age guys duke it out in front of the bar over a pair of pole while their little kids watched and cried.
That was actually me too. I sort of flailed off that one and the picture isn't that good so I didn't post it. Landing on idiot rock was perfect. I cleared the bushes, the snow was smooth and the road was no problem. I skied out of it. The other drop's landing was not steep enough for the size of the drop though - knocked the wind out of me. The takeoffis weird too - you need to ski in from the side to avoid a rock on top, and you need some speed because the drop is a bit less than vertical. I don't think I'll hit that one again.
I wouldn't mind if there was never fresh powder or sunshine on Saturdays (let alone both), the combination of either with a Saturday, draws all manner of idiots who otherwise seem to be absent. People parked so that there was barely enough room to squeeze my truck through on the road by L2. :nonono2:
Maybe that's why there are so many 4 plates in the parking lot at Disco? I've been wondering why they would make that choice versus the Bowl ...
(1/2/09 was sweet there btw - snowed a couple of inches during the day on top of 6" the night before, on top of 6" the day before, on top of 4" the day before that)
Do you think anyone in Missoula has Slapshot on DVD? That sig cracks me up every time.Quote:

Do I just hit it really fast and stop thinkin about the consequences of fucking it up?? Im good at steep but a bit sort of sad where the powder flattens it out-a lot.
There's gotta be somebody who has it, but nobody I know of.
In the meantime, this ought to provide a few laughs - http://www.slap-shot.com/audio.htm
Its nuking in town again. I have to work today...hopefully someone can give a report tonight. Skiing tomorrow - looks like another pow day!
WOOT! This one's for the locals, vacationeers are gone back to work!
"Get Thee behind me Satan! Um, in line that is."
That's what I'd say to Rasputin if I saw him in a lift line.
Have you ever been to the Bowl? He's pretty hard to miss, considering he looks exactly like his namesake. Good luck getting in front of him in the morning lineup, though.
it could be very good up there.. depending on how high the snow level goes..

..forecast is for stuart peak..
Today was interesting. 4" reported but obviously more. It was like cream cheese...or gelato. Faceshots were possible but slightly painful. Kind of hard work to ski, but fast and smooth.
I bet it's gonna rain up there tomorrow.
It has been a great week at the bowl indeed. I think there was significant snowfall post morning measurement today.
The past week has been awesome.
It was much heavier today than it has been all season. There were some lines which provided exceptions, but for the most part it made you work hard, no dancing through the fluff.
I sure hope it stays cold above 4500 feet. Regardless, I can see the road getting messy.
Snowbowl is fucked.
8" up top, rain at the bottom. 36 degrees at 6:30 am? Bad news.
Whitefish reported 11". I gots to get my shit together. Laters.;)
Damn, I was really enjoying the coverage.
report back. i've got to get my liners molded today.
Meh, it wasn't too good. Sure there was some cream up top, but half of your bowl run ended up being manky as hell. It was raining in the parking lot. We need colder temps.
This shouldn’t be all that bad it is supposed to cool down starting Thursday night. Hopefully this with help strengthen/ solidify our snow pack, which is much needed.
Fugly up north in Whitefish. Most people made a run or two and called it good.
Icelantic will be at Montana Snowbowl on Tuesday, January 13th. We have the entire line of skis with alpine and tele demo bindings. The demo is free and we are pumped to come back to Snowbowl, hopefully the temp will drop and the snow will keep coming. Spread the word to all of the locals to come charge on the skis!

Hopefully today will leave many with the impression that Snowbowl is done for the season, and it will be raining from here on out.
I mean, if there isn't blower, the place isn't worth skiing. :fm:
Fuck. 31" at LT and I can't go. Fuck.
Fuck rain at the Bowl.
I want to see some pics of you guys going huge in the Hollywood Bowl!
HB is probably closed....not that that will keep anyone out. LT really really really needs to get some patrollers who can fling some bombs.
