^^ There was a pack of sleds up there yesterday. I bet they found some rocks.
Sledding: Go up Snake Creek from Midway. You could get way up to the back of Alta and Brighton and it would most likely be epic.

It was amazing up there today, we got there around 1 and headed up to catherines, I think. when we started skiing it was getting dark but we were all engulfed in the white room all the way down...I'll post some pics tomorrow sometime

See you guys up there bright and early....:FIREdevil
I'm heading up the canyon less traveled this morn if anybody wants to git sum shoot me a pm.
Aggghhh! I have to live vicariously through all of you until the weekend. Looks like the snowpack is already starting to settle - Collins snowstake went from 40" last night to 36" this morning. Keep the observations coming and GET SOME.
Is it just me, or is it going to be another awesome season??? :):)
the snow was a wee bit easier to muck around in and a wee bit less faceshotty this morning... but still good :yourock:

Shmoesmith and I got some at alta this morning.
I think I saw skidog and crew while we were skinning up the cat track.
We only had time for 1 lap, and I need to find where my tele groove went...
speak up next time...not that there is any way to know we're mags HA...
saying "change for a nickel" to everyone on that skintrack this morning wouldve been funny though. the looks wouldve been priceless.
Hope to meet you sometime.
Ill be at the tram plaza at the bird tomorrow at 8:15 with a bunch o peeps.
Join us.
Spent the morning up LCC. Bypassed Alta to avoid the crowds and laid down a couple of laps and still only saw a handful of people. Blower pow and deep. Best couple of runs I've ever had this early in November.
Drove by Alta on our way down at 9:00. My guess was there were at least 100 cars in the parking lot.
Wow there MUST be snow on the ground at least in some places...
Im really disappointed in you guys..not ONE of you has tilted my pic yet..
Shameful.
GO UTES!!!!
Hey man, easy.
I've looked up at Snake Creek from my (parents') kitchen for 15 years. I just figure the Heber Valley slednecks could use some more company up there. The only skeirs that get in there are with the Powderbirds. Fucking shame if you ask me. That's where Alta should be droppin' a new lift, goddamnit. Or Brighton.
I HAVE had some pretty funny looks while asking for change...
I figured a maggot contingency would be there.
Ran into a couple of guys from BC.com. I think one of them was a buyer?
I'd love to join ya tomorrow at the bird, but I have to do the evil W thing in the morning.
Low snow?!

Obs from today:
one good size natural out of old reliable. probably had a 2' crown and ran down mark malu. it likely ran on the wet facets from early october. the rain event above 10.5k dropped about 2" of water and thoroughly soaked them.
good skiing in gad valley but most of the high elevation in P-gulch got wind affected. we did a lot of setup today and will do more tomorrow. i still can't believe that we're opening at 9am. 3 days ago this wasn't even a thought for most of us.
Hit a rock on a sled and it can cost you thousands. They sink a lot more than a skier, ya know.
Based on the snow I skied at Alta yesterday, I wouldn't take my sled out to anywhere but Guardsman right now. But even so, I'm waiting for a couple more feet, I don't want to wreck my sled so early in the season.
A few shots from today taken by Springsproject and Johngchrist. Started skinning around 6:15 made it up to Main Chute by around 7:45 or so. SP and JG had first and second tracks in Main, my hands were frozen so I needed to warm up and let a few others go before me  The weather at the top was seriously haneous this morning. Winds coming from the south up Main Chute were depositing a lot of snow on top of us. The winds were scouring the north facing ridgeline and depositing snow on the south facing aspect. We witnessed a few propagating cracks in the top 6-8 inches, North aspect around 11,000 ft. Other then that everything was pretty bomber.

Sick shots, JTrue. We should get out and rip it up. Anyone going to the bird tomorrow? There's going to be some serious carnage... there really isn't that much snow. I took a digger on N. Baldy after slaying some sharks.
