Hope you get there and make some of those great turns for me.
Saturday at Perisher as quite mushy, and very windy, with graupel snow at times. The visibility was also shite and Eyre and Inter on Mt P were only good from half way down. The queues were ballistic at Front Valley and across to Centre on Sat as the chairs were all on wind hold. Sometimes the sun would break through and all was good.
Sunday was much the same, wet sleet at times, the carpark was a huge slushy. Again the light was very weird and the snow was slurpy consistency.
The bump lines down Inter got a good workout, slush bumps they were !!
But the bro and I had a great weekend despite the non-classical conditions. He took slides in the pipe on Sat where Draxl and others were going large, I did some carving on my alpine snowboard, and Sunday we went full speed with a mate on teles, so it was good.
See you this weekend maybe ....

tjb, thanks for kind of making it feel ok to miss a weekend.
Still sounds good though.
Anyway, I have a good mates 21st on this weekend so this weekend is off too.
The weekend after I will be there and a mate is coming along to make a movie as well. Hopefully see you round on the 4th/5th September.
The season is looking like it may struggle to get to the magic 3 metre base depth.
Such an amzing 2 and a half months though.

I'll keep throwing up the rooster tails, you keep eating them.
TJB, had to be dragged down there like the Biatch he is. Yeah the snow wasn't great, but I was super stoked to be skiing still. Weird that way!. Even went over to Smigs and scared some children on the duplex T-Bar. Hopefully this High system moves off and we can go back to it being kinda wintery.
Are you clowns from ski.commie.au?
nope.
ski.comesuckmyballs.com.au is way too boring these days, I scan the topics, but there's shit all related to actual skiing, just a bunch of people talking smack.
Or complaining that a Coke and a Pie is too expensive or there sprog was poorly treated by a instructor or they where poorly treated by lifty or the roads are too busy it goes on and on and on.
Some digi cam frame rips (poor quality) from earlier in the season;

Did you say Super Pump? Sweeeet, Moite!!!!
A man died and went to heaven. As he stood in front of St. Peter at the Pearly Gates, he saw a huge wall of clocks behind him. He asked,"What are all those clocks?"
St. Peter answered, "Those are Lie-Clocks. Everyone on Earth has a Lie-Clock. Every time you lie the hands on your clock will move."
"Oh," said the man, "Whose clock is that?"
"That's Mother Teresa's. The hands have never moved, indicating that she never told a lie."
"Incredible," said the man. "And whose clock is that one?"
St. Peter responded, "That's Abraham Lincoln's clock. The hands have moved twice, telling us that Abe told only two lies in his entire life."
"Where's John Howard'sclock?" asked the man.
"Howard's clock is in Jesus' office. He's using it as a ceilingfan."
Yo Janus, this is a skiing thread - show some respect.
SB, I hate to say it, but this morning the R word was fscking up our snowpack bigtime.
The base isn't quite what it was on Sunday is the delicate way of putting it.
eeek.
Hoping the snow starts to fall and the *R* farks off.
Toque you post just about anywhere.
Looks good out there at the moment. Spring skiing is always fun
Will be back in action this weekend - hoping to post some video;

Good one!
Had some turns with your bro on Saturday and Sunday.
This is sort of related to this thread;
We had a pretty big hail storm in Sydney on Sunday night.

Good stoke there Ski Beaver
Spring is coming for you. Still good turns and a more relaxed feel. Almost better than winter. I said Almost.
Spot on Toque.
Hey all,
Bout time I joined in on this partay.
Tim, Dave, Janus, SB - hows things? Some good memories of the Aussie season in here !!!
Tim/Dave - by the looks of those pics instead of just talking about skiing together we need to actually do it =)
Back in action this weekend after most of the season out due to a busted collarbone.... cannot wait
3decks aka XBenX

:D
Its gone all waterlogged and soupy down here at the moment. Early week was excellent, classic spring conditions , but its been either pissing down with Rain or sleet the rest of the time !. Still skied full days though, even though at times I was questioning my motivations. Looks like things may be on the rise soon though, with significant snowfalls forcast and much cooler temps hopefully.
Are you still down there or ar you back in Sydney?
I will be there Sunday on the Gotama's hopefully see you there.
And good turns last weekend too.

It hasn't been bad, but the dampening of conditions and retreat of the base has sucked a bit.
Glad to hear you've healed. We will have to turn em together some time .... Watch out for roads and stay well!
Tim
He is still down there, typical local government bludger !!!!Quote:

Hopefully this system brings some nice stuff to try out the Gotamas on. Go large .... They will rock in the spring slush anyway. I vote not following you with the upturn on the phat twin on those suckas :-)
A facefull of spring slush is what makes twins so much fun. Those little pellets hurt like a mofo but it's fun being the person throwing it up.
My V-pro's throw up a great projectile rooster tail.
Just ask the lady at the bottom of Kozi Quad the other weekend with a cleavage full of snow.
She went for me in the line and I just looked at her and said -
"Nah couldn't have been me - that's impossible."
She kept going on how I did one of those "flick turns" in front of her and sprayed snow into her.
Punters.
You should have offered to dig it out for her.
Seth Pistols spray the best I think.
Sunday was absolutely freaking fantastic.
I will upload some pics and short digi cam movies of us hitting it up later on but for now here are some roving pics from Thredbo yesterday.
There was a foot of fresh everywhere with even more if you knew where to look;
Enjoy;

Not bad for spring skiing - and my new Gotama's loved every minute of it.
Top work was had.
SB wondered whether I would see you at PB ? We went the Ridge very first thing, was most excellent also. I was riding my AK Enemys and had a blast. The snow was soo good for taking drops etc.
I provided some comic relief for the Ridge Chair by hitting the mogul run kicker a little fast, went way backseat to an invert that was never recovered from. I soared way down the landing zone before going in head/back first. Luck was on my side as I escaped unscathed from what could have been very nasty !!
By 12 noon the fresh was all cut to pieces and provided some deflection testing of the noodle like Enemies.
Give us the run down on the Gotama characteristics ....

turn with your skis, not your head.
I saw you on the Ridge - you absolutely smoked down through rock garden and the drop in off the rock at the top was something else!!!Quote:

I saw you at the top of the mogul course and yelled out - again you were absolutely killing it.
I called out but you were having too good a time. Ben gave you a call too as we went OB over the back of Summit and down to Guthega Carpark - all untracked and deep - pics and movie to follow.
Double Trouble was very nice too.
Was Dave around?
