sent mine out today ...should be there saturday or monday!
just finished mine....going out in the mail tomorrow.
The count is still 28 right?
I'm late. I'll overnight them to you on Monday. Sorry to all. Family got in the way of some quality time on the vise.
28 flies, please. Thanks to all who've gotten them in. Everyone else, please let me know if you need me to ship you chains to help you stay at the tying bench. When you're done, I'll send the key and you can use the chain as an anchor for your boat.
Another set arrived from Fairbanks last night. Adipose, now that I know where you're from, I'll make sure I haven't gotten yours -- it's entirely possible I have. It's a bit of a fun challenge to match up flies, user names, real names, and addresses. Stay tuned, folks.
I'd think the ones coming from Fairbanks should all be 8 inch long wire tied string leeches and the ones coming from Sun Valley will all be size 28 tricos.
I'm actually tieing some leech patterns right now. First time tieing a pattern like this as I have never pike fished on a fly rod before but I am hitting Minto in a couple weeks. Picks of Pikes to follow.:D
But mine should be the ones from Fairbanks. Hope they're up to par...
My buddy caught this on my #16 bh pt nymph today. Sorry for the blurry photo i think he was shaking from having gotten off a 5 trip snide:

i hope to get mine out monday or tuesday (depends on a possible obligation tomorrow).
i've got 30 nice buggers tied up, its the bow river part that is killing me.
Sorry everyone, I'll overnight them to Yeti.
Rather than single out the folks whose flies I have not yet received, here's a friendly reminder to please get them to me, or at least let me know if you haven't sent them out yet.
Mine left today.
Glad I coughed up ~$25 bucks for 2-day fedex a week ago....:fuckyou:
Actually, I'm just giving you slow/late guys shit. C'est la vie. Obligations and commitments, they sure can be a hassle and get in the way of the real important things in life; like fishing, skiing, women, booze, ummm... thats all I can think of....
:p
can't wait to see them all!
So Yeti....what's in the pile?
Mine shows that they should be there monday, via fedex.

Update for June 11: including my own contribution, I have received 12 sets of flies out of 14 expected sets. Thanks to all who have gotten them to me.
To the rest of you: some of our number have busted their butts overnighting flies to me - and yet because you're still sitting in the back of the theater with your hands in your sweatpants, their efforts won't get the flies out any sooner. Respect yourself by respecting the group, please.
Bump to heap scorn and opprobrium upon the two scofflaws among us.
C'mon now folks, get 'em in!
I'm going to try to photograph the selections tonight, just to keep the stoke rolling. We have some really skilled tiers among us, and it's cool to see what comes from where.
I'm outa here on Tuesday for 5-weeks, so no hurry on my part. But, I say send out what you have and keep the extra's for your work. Been ample time to get them in and back out.
^ where are you taking us.
I'm mighty impressed with the variety and quality of the flies you all have tied. Well done!
Here are pictures of the flies I have received. Where possible, I've identified the tier and the flies. If you recognize your flies, feel free to post up any information you want -- name, where you fish them, how, any favorite memories, etc. I'll edit this post with any updates you provide.

Adipose, I know you sent yours in ... I'm ransacking the house to see where they could be. Iskipowder21, what did you send? and 72twenty, you're the one left holding the wonderball. o..u..
Nice Job everyone!
I was just thinking about this thread, i'm hoping to be out this weekend.
best way to fish the bow river buggers is with a sinking line. the deer hair gives them a bit of bouyancy which is nice for keepiing them off the bottom if there is weeds or rocks. i usualy use a pretty fast sink tip and about 5' of 8 - 10# test for them.
Got a recipe for the sculpin?
Yeti, mine are Silvey's Hexagenia, Nymph... i just changed up the tail a bit for the muddy water

There are mine actually. Standard Parachute BWO (or my standard at least). Great for fishing riffles when BWOs are out. Easy to see with parachute. Favorite memory with these is moonlight fishing at the inlet at Turquoise Lake near Leadville in the spring/fall for rising Macs (Lake Trout). Not hudge Macs, but a strike on every cast!
The others are a variation of my favorite fly (hook type I wanted to use weren't in stock anywhere). But I use them for still-water pretty productively. I use a floating line with a leader made of P-Line (Flourocarbon) that you can slowly drag these guys near the bottom. Favorite memory with these, big bows at Spinney Reservoir.

All the flies have come in -- Adipose sent his by parcel post on May 20 from Wyoming, and they arrived Saturday. (I think the express needs a few new ponies.) I have them all divvied up, and will mail them out this evening.

Again, sorry about my late entry. This stupid "job" thing keeps getting in the way of my fun stuff.

Thanks for taking the lead Yeti. You da' man, man.
Thanks T for heading this up.
Cant wait to get these things in the water.
:yourock:
The flies have gone out. You should get them later this week, by Monday at the latest for those of you in far-flung places.
I will say that the organization took a bit more effort than I thought, but it was totally worth it. I'm looking forward to our next swap.
Yeti thanks my man. can't wait to see these suckers in person!
RECEIVED MY FLIES TODAY!!!!
Thanks Yeti!!!!
