Wow, people need to get off their high horses, stop point fingers and just take a deep breath. Jeezus....

The picture plays on a number of racial sterotypes about black men to make white people feel superior because they don't perceive themselves to be in any kind of similar situation. The racism in it isn't even subtle. Take away the watermelon and there are still images that reflect racist attitudes about black men. But make the passed out individual a white frat boy and the picture loses all meaning. I am astounded that anyone would suggest otherwise. Get real. The message--and don't believe for a second that there isn't a message--is 100% contingent upon the object of ridicule being a black man. String, I challenge you to show that picture to your black friend and ask him if he thinds the race of the person in it is meaningless.

If you have never been a target of racism, you really have no idea what it feels like and what the impact of a joke like that is. I'm just saying, as someone who knows something about racism, that some things are funny and that picture is not.

if this is true, than i am down with you. the interweb is a poor medium for conveying subltly, no one really knows what the other erson is like in real life (a racist? a tolerant guy that just has a twisted sense of humor - e.g. southpark, chappel show, etc).

No photoshop. That's Dave and his rig. He decided to drive his truck up onto his home that was going to be demolished later that week. While backing the truck off the house he broke an axle (i believe) and the police rolled up with him drinking budweiser afterwards and arrested him for drunk driving. True story...marysville or everett.
