Good God, I think that is the cruelest thing I've ever seen posted. Poor (little) fella is standing there holding that (little) ski all proud like and you go step on his (little) toes. I hope you're (a little) proud of yourself you fricken giant.
hey, i'd love to be shorter than my skis. PMGear ever gonna make a 220?
Kevin's dad here. Still have fond mems of Argentina '04. Kevin is itching to go again. Trying to hook up with Travis for August. Maybe.
Congrats on the press and progress. Rob is the Man. He knows how to break em and make em.
Onward.
If we do make a 220, you can bet Rob will ski it better than anyone.
OldnSlow - good to hear from you. Rob's headed to Ushuaia next week, then coming back in a month to make skis. Looks like we might go back to test protos and hook up with Trav, too. Hope to see you guys down there!
Splat - if you need any help with marketing aspects of the site, help with editing copy for it, etc, I'd be happy to give a hand. It's part of what I do for a living (although, not in retail... yet).
By the way, I recommend against offering equity to people to get stuff done on the site, or indeed any work. Cash - or better yet, barter - is way cheaper, and you get a better pick of people to choose from.
Congrats on getting the ski press. It's awesome to see you guys getting control over production of the skis. I can't wait to see and ski the results!
Splat..Sounds neat. I'll have to "find" a copy of AutoCAD for the home PC first...
Baaah chacca baaaawwooooowaaawwaa.
Congrats. Stoked. Yum.
Good god, a ski press and a tuning machine in Splat's garage.....can you fit anything else in there?
FKNA...I want to make skiis too...
I might have a 'back-up' copy of AutoCad 2002...Quote:

It's all way cool, but I must admit I'm a little stunned that splat has a two-car garage.
Thanks to Splat I Skied em in the spring creamed corn down Sign Line and fell in love.
Im a fan for life.
congrats fellas! color me jealous.
splat, did you manage to buy that CNC and get it up and running?
Congrats
420
I have mucho AutoCAD... but I am in Ohio... *Sigh* Sick Skis, after I had a chance to ski with Eon at the 'Bird, I realized the full stoke potential of these sticks. He pimped 'em to their full potential.
I don't have ant Cad skills but I know Safety. I am hard at work formulating an OSHA aproved shop safety prorgram for PM gear.
I need to know aproximately how much Hookers and Blow are you guys are going through in a week. So I can figure how much Narcan and condoms your gonna need.
Heh. I knew you'd have a plan, sfb.
wicked - passed up the CNC for now. Too much potential for expensive problems on a used piece of equipment like that. Currently negotiating with a shop to do all our cores and bases, which makes it waaaaay easier to just start pressing.
Good plan, splat. I'm working at a place right now running a CNC machine and it's worth $600,000. It's 3 months old and there have already been two problems that had to be fixed under warranty. Problems that would have cost thousands of dollars to fix otherwise. It'd be enough to put a guy in the poorhouse.
You doing wood or metal, dude?Quote:

Good to hear you're doing that now. You will be assimilated.
The place I'm at is doing wood only (MDF) and is so busy there's no time for any custom orders.
I know of two metal places that do custom stuff. One offered me employment, and a buddy manages the other. The first one deals mainly in rescue and climbing equipment, as well as some aircraft stuff, and the other one does pretty much anything.
