Nope, mostly snowboard. I need a pair of skis. The question was what quiver. That's my quiver. Oh, and I probably wouldn't take the 163 on a trip. Just the other 3.Quote:

-A month from now, substitute Spat with Pontoon.
Driving in my truck to Jackson:
-Spats with 916s
-179 Made'n AKs with 916s
-Lab Swallowtails with 914s
-190 Gots with P18
-184 Squads with Axial2 14s (thanks Trainvain)
-190 Ants with P18
-180 AR5s with ZRS 7-17
-Axioms with Freeride+
Not a bad idea, focus.Quote:

Only because it seems like more work than necessary. I prefer the route of the Salomon S900/ 997/ 977 binding; just slap one on each ski you have, sell the binding with the skis if you decide to unload them, no big deal. Perfectly good binding, easy to obtain for cheap, reasonable weight, reliable.Quote:

One other thought -- Line sells their skis with those inserts in them to use the Line bindings; your plate is basically a way to use the Line inserts but with whatever binding you want. Is a ski without the Line inserts going to be strong enough to take the load focused by that plate on 4 holes simply drilled into the ski?
Something to consider with the 4FRNT VCTs showing up. If you mount the bio-plate into that ski, and rip out all 4 holes in the dead center of the ski, seems like that could seriously weaken the ski.

My contraption simply screws into some 6mm inserts in this plate, so the interface with the ski is actually a much larger area than the 4-hole pattern. I'll prob put together a carbon fiber version of this with a different 4 hole pattern later this year. 5 min to swap the bindings between skis with warm fingers. Thanks for your encouragement.
I didn't realize you were going to use the bio-plate on top of the Line freedom plate on the VCT. That looks like it'll distribute the binding forces sufficiently.Quote:

Relevant question. As in; going to the alps in 2 days :-). I will bring;
lawnchairs with freerides for the first 5 days of touring
dp lotus 120 with s 920s for the last 3 days of deep powder in Engelberg :D(wishful thinking..)
The G4's will have to stay home, but they really should be heading for the dump...
another option in all these 'quickmount' ideas is the vist speedlock system (pro is pretty sweet). it's the same binders at the 4frnt deadbolt (available in 6-14 and 8-16 w/ wide brakes and upward release lockout). the plate is only about 1.5 cm high (you'd still be much lower off the ski than a pair of freerides or naxos) and it's a sinch to reposition fore-aft or even between skis.Quote:

bossass...you'd really take 9 skis on a roadtrip? Would you be moving to Jackson? :)Quote:

I might add...
(a) my Seths + Dynafits if it's more of a mountaineering trip;
-or-
(b) my Spats/Freerides if it's more of a pow-thang/heli-trip (wishful thinking).
