Does it have P90s too?
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RiWXHq_xvjg
Yeah they are staple style P90s, "Fidelitronics", in this Streamliner Jr. model. Mahogany body, Nato neck, Laurel fingerboard, semi-hollow with spruce centerblock. Made in Indonesia, brand spankin.
I am a JONG player so don't confuse me with someone who knows what they're doing.
At my cool wife's urging, I bought this as a decent budget instrument. These Streamliners are getting good reviews for quality and playability for the price.
Chose the P90s for their slightly hotter growl and ability to overdrive an amp, which should get some cool sustain and tones with the body style. Should be a little less twangy than a more traditional Gretsch and able to play some metal, etc. It's reasonably resonant without amplification so I can fuck around without bugging my family.
Pretty excited to finally have a decent instrument in the house. I have an old Ibanez low end super-strat whatever that just kinda sucks so it's been collecting dust.
Anybody have a Helix unit? I have a secondary acoustic pedalboard on a Nano+ with a handful of pedals on it, plus a M9 stompbox and a Helicon voice pedal, and I'm thinking of selling them all and getting a used Helix Floor. I'd still have my main pedalboard, but this would be backup, acoustic, and things I don't have actual pedals for. But I've never used one. Anyone with any experience?
Over here in bass land, I've contemplated getting the HX Stomp vs. keep collecting stand alone pedals. Used to be leery of multi-effects as it seemed like 'jack of all, master of none' but I've seen enough ppl using them to excellent effect that there's no doubt that tone shaping is impressive and expandable beyond what I can have a right to critique.
I think my biggest use-case is using it to emulate other's tone/sound thru experimentation where I don't have buy an endless array of individual pedals. Right now that's a non-starter and I think this would spawn some good creativity. Sometimes I'll do it in the DAW which is why I haven't bought one yet. If you are finicky or have a particular preference, say a distortion or fuzz or octaver - you can just get that too and use it in your loop.
Just thinking aloud, not particularly helpful since I don't have one. If you get one, report back.
Got a Stomp XL. It's mind bogglingly capable, which means it's also mind bogglingly complex. I did set up a nice acoustic effect board on it. Mostly I'm using it right now to plug headphones into and play in the mornings so I'm not disturbing sleepers. I'm starting to get in to setting it up. Fascinating. And it sounds way better than the old modelers.
Also, going back through time on this thread has revealed just how much my guitar habit is now resembling my skiing habit, especially in terms of collecting equipment. Concerning.
Bass Guitar Quiver.. Added a Squier Jazz Bass with a Geddy sticker to the bass quiver last week. Gift from the wife. Just the Affinity with the crappy ceramic pick ups though.. Still feels cool to bang on..

Not mine, but a good friend with a hoarding problem.
Five SGs! That's a lot of very specific overlap. Nice looking Firebird.
Back when I worked in a guitar store, someone brought a carbon fiber Steinberger six string guitar in, and wanted to talk about changing the pickups to get a different tone. My coworker who played a huge fretted Strat strung with 12s sauntered over, peeked in the case, and proclaimed, "I think the tone problem is that your guitar isn't made out of wood"
Saying the guy was mad would've been a huge understatement.
Is there a skateboard inside a case there on the left behind the edge of the TV?
If so, a story needs to be told.
I was really biting my tongue not to laugh, but we recycled that line amongst ourselves for the next year.
Maybe this is his friend?

Generally we need more guitar talk. Yeah yeah thegearpage and all that, but TGR is better.
So, do I need a guitar that is full P90 pickups? I’m kinda torn.
As someone who doesn't much like humbuckers I say yes.
An old coworker hooked me up with a 73' P-bass. At some point the original pickups were replaced with some active EMG's. At some point I'd like to put Fender pickups back in. Still it's pretty sweet as is. Freaking heavy though.
Thinking of getting a Squire Strat for my wife. Or maybe a used MIM or MIJ Fender??? I've got no idea what the used market is like.
My pop's got a used MIJ Telecaster for like $300 but that was probably 20 years ago.
I'm digging new signature J Mascis Jazzmaster too.
you can get squires all day long for dirt. craigslist. some of them aren't terrible.
I’ve got absolutely nothing special but these hang out in my office to noddle on. Attachment 474163

There's also a Yamaha FG331 Grand Concert Guitar thrift store score I'm gonna give the kid when he comes home for Christmas. It's what he played in his high school guitar ensemble.
