Fully refundable to the card. It's my Delta AmEx, but I still don't think that matters as my buddy got the same deal and he didn't mention that he used one. 48 hours prior though and then I think if it's within 48 but less than 24 you pay a nominal change fee.

I'd go Pandemic Express just to sample some of Timber's Branch Covidian margarita service.

Isn't Holimont mostly Canadians? That should be be pretty empty this year.

This is a great plan, but I suggest spending the night in Buffalo to acclimate to the altitude before heading out. :)

If the Wall ever opens, and there's no avy danger, then yes. I will be hucking myself off the Wall. That said, I'm partial to the eastern side of the resort and find the bumps on Yodler, and more importantly, the bar scene at the base thereof, to be the preferred way to spend your day while shralping all that lake effect goodness.

Also, f we're saving time by foregoing the casino will there be a quick jaunt over to Erie to get our Chick Fil A?

I feel this morphing into the upstate NY thread.

Erie? That's another state line. Would you settle for wings at the Anchor Bar and a donut at Paula's on the return to Buffalo?

Just a heads up. Businesses will be open, the ski area will be open. If you can get reservations go for it! Town is going to be a complete disaster though. All businesses are operating on a 25% capacity. All businesses besides lodging.. That being said, going out for food and drinks is going to be tricky. We are also on a pretty strict "curfew"... Restaurants/Bars need to be closed at 9:30.. They want everyone home at 10pm. Restaurants were on an hour + wait last Saturday....without the ski area being open. That being said, things might change by the time you get here, I wouldn't bet on it though.

I would stay away from Breck personally...and I live here. Like others have said Frisco might be a better call location wise, more centralized if you are planning on skiing the other areas in Summit. If you are just planning on skiing Breck, that's fine. Go to the grocery store and order food/drinks togo... Maybe walk around town with a cocktail in hand and enjoy the shitshow!

I think that's a very equitable compromise. Maybe some of those fried canal fish sandwiches too? They looked really good and would pair nicely with some Labatt.

Good stuff, thanks Doughnuts. It's going to be ski with the kids, eat at home, go for some hikes, toss the kids in ski school, make some laps and pretty much keep to ourselves. I haven't skied Keystone since the early aughts but it looks like you can get a lot more house over there but you're then committed to skiing Keystone I guess. May not be bad since we're not really going to "go out" and this trip is pretty much all about the kids anyway.

I'm not sure about short term rentals in the Summit Cove area but that might be a cheaper happy medium for Keystone/Breck. At the base of Swan Mt.... 10 Minutes to Keystone, 20-30ish to Breck. The grocery store in Dillon is twice as big as the Breck one.. Decent home base I would think..

I feel like Keystone gets a bit of an undeserved bad rap. I wouldn't plan a vacation around it, but it will certainly keep you occupied for a day or two.

You're well positioned for a short trip up to Abasin there, and, as said, Dillon isn't far for food shopping. There's even a shuttle up to Abasin, but, who knows if it runs or if it's safe, but, in normal times, it's an option. Are the kids advanced at all, or still growing into it? If the latter, Keystone is fine, although, one problem. You're forced into a gondola at the base, which will be a choke point.

Abasin is one of my favorite places on earth. Still haven't experienced the new Beavers chair. Crowds way down last year when they left the Epic pass. So, if this is an Epic pass trip, you'll have to pay for the best mountain in Summit.

Kids are new to the sport but very hungry. I recall that River Run Gondola (and more specifically the run under it) being a total goat rodeo.

ABasin is a favorite of mine as well, but may not be in the cards this trip since the days I'll be off skiing with my buddy I'll have to be the one dropping off/picking up from ski school.

Don't know about ski school. Killington has basically cancelled most lessons. My buddy who teaches snowboarding there says it's almost impossible to teach beginners to a little better safely.
