Yep. Every single piece of usable mountain bike suspension technology has come off motorcycles, with the exception of multi-link rear suspension. (All motos are single pivot -- when you're pulling 50+ horsepower over four-foot whoops, you can't afford the slop.)Quote:

If I did suggest a zoke product I'd have to give the nod to the Z1 fr1 (the fr3 is less bucks but the ETA adjustment is sooo nice on the climbs)
Avy makes beautiful rear suspension and they dial it in perfectly. But it is more DH friendly. 5th element C.O. is a good all around rear setup.
Wheelsets can be many things depending on what you are doing. For full wheelsets for all around heavy riding I've liked the Dt Swiss Hugi FR IS set or the SunRingle/Intense wheelset. These are both heavier wheelsets but they take a beating without being as heavy as a full out DH hoopset. Kenda Nevegals are always on my wheels.
E13 dual ring guide if you're just running a 32/22 combo (you'll want to bump up to a 36t outer if you plan on doing any dirt jumping). If it's a triple a least get a bashguard to save yer leg from that ring.
XT/octalink is a good crank/BB combo.
Thompson/Truvativ/RaceFace is all good for cockpit parts.
Don't worry, I'm just being a curmudgeon because my big bike is worth less than half of everyone else's. :D
Seriously: CK could easily make it quieter if they wanted without slower engagement, but the sound has basically become their trademark.
From all the reviews I've read, Hadleys make the same noise.Quote:

For the love of God people, if you are gonna give someone an opinion, at least have some clue what you are talking about!!!!
It only took one ride w/ GS to realize I hated them...hence my opinion that I hate them. http://tetongravity.com/ubb/biggrin.gifQuote:

Perhaps you've got extra-long levers?Quote:

I've heard the Hadleys with only 36 points of engagement are really loud too, but that's also just from reviews. I checked all the rear hubs in my house...Novatec is loud, XT is tied with the no-name at "moderate", and Deore is very quiet. You could run an XT or Deore with 4x the engagement and it still wouldn't make the CK noise.Quote:

I'd consider truvativ holzfellers over hussefelts considering everything else in the build is top of the line.
Skip the Max Ti bottom bracket and get a Team DH... ti is for xc nerds. Don't know what people in this thread said about the brakes, but I would go for the Avid Juicy 5's or 7's w/8" rotors or to pimp it even more - Hope 6 pistons or Magura Gustavs. You gonna get a chainguide? If so get the e.13 DRS.
Mags are awesome. 6 piston Hopes would be retarded $$overkill on anything less than a monstro DH bike.Quote:

Well, then 4 piston Hopes or still Avids... I have Hayes and I am not a big fan of their feel or stopping power. I was only suggesting the 6 pistons or Gustavs for max pimpage.Quote:
