Fiction podcasts play like old radio dramas with modern production values- pretty damn cool. I HIGHLY recommend 'Homecoming,' the voice talents include Katherine Keener, Oscar Isaac, Amy Sedaris, David Cross and a surprisingly, awesomely villainous David Schwimmer.

Strong appeal for NPR nerds whatever news you follow it'll give a good take on who's covering it, why, and how with bigger cultural or historical context than the breathless headless that make up the daily news grind.

A great contrast to the shouting matches on cable and instant analysis by inexperienced journos - he knows the process and the substantive law, he knows the players, and he readily acknowledges what he doesn't know. After that, conversations with authors, candidates, other public figures.
