I have to disagree with you on that way of thinking. The "Love it or Leave it" thing is just bad thinking. If everyone who had a problem wth the ccountry, left or right, emmigrated the USA would be nothing but a bunch of crickets chirping in the dark. No, the thing to do is fight, and work for the improvment of this very broken country.
As for the "best country in the world" thing, that is your subjective opinion, and you have a right to the opinion. That said, not all opinions are equal. The USA is a broken, and fucked up place. I think it is on the brink of "the point of no return" in its downward spiral and decay. And I have fought and done as much as possible to try and make it a better place through political activism, being involved in local issues and politics, and trying to shed light on issues which need addressing.
BUT, I am at a point where if things do not start turning around, I will leave the country and not look back. I have already begun the emmigration process to another country and am trying to get all my "ducks in a row" should that option have to take place.
I love Alaska, the land and wilds, and that is really the only reason I have remained in this country for so long. But even that draw to the wilds and beauty is waning in comparison to what is happening in the USA. The facts are, this is not the country I grew up in. Something happened and changed and it has become a bizarre, violent and flawed place.
