Cool. Thanks.
Sterling Moss passes away at 90, RIP. Haven’t been able to find an article confirming cause of death.

Yeah I couldn’t find cause of death either.
BTW it’s Sir Stirling Moss. :fmicon:
Apparently a long term illness was involved. I remember Stirling back in the late 50's - early 60's where he raced at several East coast venues amongst others. Anyone remember Mossport, Put-in-bay, Watkins Glen? Course record (old road course) at W.G. still belongs to Mannie Holder driving a Porsche 550. Knew the Holder brothers well & my dad worked the pits / mechanical work on their cars. Still remember their 550 coming off a plane from Flying Tiger airlines. First time I saw a cargo plane open it's belly with ramps to roll a car down. Road racing took a toll on that Porsche. Bet they would have put it in a time capsule knowing what it would eventually be worth. RIP Stirling, you are a legend.
My Dad never tires of reminding me he was at the '55 British GP at Aintree.
Sebastian Vettel: Ba-Bye
His feet were never big enough to fill Schumi's shoes.

It could be worse

Like the new Merc livery. Nice to see McLaren with a competitive car again.
If Mercedes made Bottass let Lewis through 35 laps ago, they would have had a 1-2. Instead they fawked around and Lewis got mixed up with Albon.
Team politics left them with only the top podium, instead of the top 2 spots.
Congrats to MB letting their drivers race. The MBs look pretty strong, so will likely.walk away with constructors trophy.
I only saw have the race before I had to leave. Lots of reliability issues.
That was an entertaining race.
I don't think Bottas is going to be very much of a team player this year. It's likely to be his last season in the Mercedes so he's going to have to go full Rosberg to beat Hamilton.
Silly mistake by Albon, he had the race win in his hands.
Yep.
Albon shouldn't have put himself there though IMO. He didn't need to with the tire advantage he had at that stage of the race.
Hamilton was up to within a second of VB and had consistently had DRS on him when the team asked him to back off because of gearbox sensor problems on both cars - Mercedes ordered them to cruise to the finish. Hamilton who is normally easier on his tires and uses less curb could probably have made off into the distance quite easily without that order.Quote:
if Hamilton can't pass, screw him.
Sounds like Alonso to Renault announcement to be made tmw.
That'll give the announcers something to "work up" some excitement. So glad Harris is gone from MotoGP with his nonstop "nine times world champion just finish another lap!".
Holy crap. Qualifying was sensational.
Hamilton stayed off the curbs today and kept the Mercedes reliable.
Looks like it will be a season of Hamilton and Bottas fighting it out, at least for a few weeks before the other constructors catch up.
Ferrari looking slow. Good weekend for most of the young up-and-comers. Haas car is awful right now.
Qualifying was awesome.
Stunning race at Monza today.
Gasly being hunted down by Sainz over the last few laps was about as good as it gets.
Mugello next week. Check out videos of the track if you haven't seen it before. Current F1 cars are going to be mindblowing there.
The best part being how genuinely happy everyone seemed to be for Pierre. It was all fist bumps, hugs and kind words. The man has lived such a rollercoaster of emotions these past 18 months. And stayed strong and positive. So glad for him.
Horner and Marko should take a good hard look at themselves. Red Bull is so obviously toxic for the 2nd driver.

I really hope they don't immediately send him back to Red Bull.
Their car is clearly an edgy beast this season having to come in halfway through and go up against Max again would ruin his momentum.
He clearly deserves that seat next year over Albon though.
Just realized Imola is on the schedule. The Tamburello is long gone, but it'll be cool seeing F1 cars back on that track.
Perez out of Racing Point.
So it has to mean Vettel is going there?
Meh.
Trust me though... Mugello

Mugello= carbon shards and safety cars
Qualifying is probably going to be great with some extremely high speeds, but I’m not sure if I see a lot of passing zones on that track. Hopefully we will get a great race out of it.
Mugello :

Vettel Signs for RP-Aston Martin.
Perez is pissed, hopefully he gets one of the Haas seats.
i was wrong... plenty of passing. sweet track, especially turn 1. great racing across all three series.
hoping for a return to this track next year....
Wow, that would be an awesome F1 to see in Europe. Combine the trip with sightseeing and eating in Florence. Not far from Maranello to see the Ferrari museums and even rent a Ferrari for an expensive hour. On the list.
They need to fire whoever is in charge of the broadcast. It's consistenly shitty, race after race.
Not once those idiots did show us the awesome serie of turns 6/7/8 (arrabiata ! ) in one large shot. They always, always, had to cut for just another close up. Infuriating.
I think F1 provides coverage at all the tracks now, it used to be that some was done by local broadcasters.
Mostly they do an incredible job. I wonder if the lack of experience at Mugello played into it combined with constraints of Covid and it being the third back to back race. Maybe consulting with MotoGP about how they film there if there are further races?
Yep. too close and then having to cut to another camera too quickly.Quote:

Camera coverage of Le Raidillon.... de l'Eau Rouge was better this year than the usual weak sauce.
