Not sure how much use it is to you but there is a bootfitter in Chamonix that have their own custom Intuition liners that sounds more like what you are describing. Not sure whether it is an exclusive arrangement or whether they are available through any other channels...

Whoa! Pro wrap with a flex zone - what a dream. They list it as medium density which sounds like one notch softer than pro wrap high density.

Nothing about that liner seems like it’s pro wrap inspired.

I just ordered a pair of pro tongues to see if they can do mid winter duty (cold temps, that is) in my new Raptors.

Looks like they are trying to offer something similar but from the pictures I’d wager thats not the high density foam. Either way thanks for the heads up. I’ll be looking into it as both of my liners are totally beat yet still perform better than what’s currently offered by intuition.

Anyone know what the sammy carlson boot liners are like in regards to the foam?

I need to take up space on the front of my lower leg, from about the hinge point above the instep to about half way up the liner (maybe 3" or 4"). Wrap liner in an il Moro. Any pictures of the best way to lay the foam on the liner? In a tongue liner I just laid it on the tongue only but not sure how to go about doing this with the overlap. Lay it on the inner flap, the outer flap, both? How to get it symmetrical over the full width of the area I want (past the ends of the overlap). Sand the foam down to get a consistent thickness where it overlaps? I just need some ideas that have worked for others.

Two crescent moon shaped pads right at the face of the ankle. It should be pretty apparent where they go when you pull the liner out. Obviously that won’t fill halfway up your shin but I would also recommend trying to heat and compress the upper part of the liner more. Wraps can be very thick at the top of the cuff, causing uneven pressure on the shin. I find this problem even worse with Dalbello boots. Really tight up too and zero pressure in front of the lower leg.

does anyone know how the downhill wrap high density compares to the Plug wrap. I have used the Plug wraps in my Head raptor 140rs with good success other than my boots being a bit cold but was wondering if there would be any benefit in switching to the high density.

I used plug wraps in TLT5+6 for years and adding a flex zone to that would be dreamy. they make an LV tour wrap now, which isn’t perfect but might be ok.

Whats the take on the new updated Intuitions on their site? Looking for a new liner for a pr of Lupo HD's I picked up last spring. Torn between the new Downhill Wrap or perhaps the Downhill Tongue....

The new layout should be easier to navigate. Basically two liners in multiple variations. First do you want tongue or wrap, then tour or DH, then choose thickness, then if you went DH, choose stiffness.

New HD foam feels softer than Hd foam in previous years HD Race. Dalbello Lupo Pro tongue liner would probably be equivalent to the tour tongue DD 12mm but a touch thinner and softer.

All the tongue’s rigid outer layer is much softer than previous years’. The laces go higher and are thin. They all have 4mm bottoms.

As for tongue vs wrap, a wrap will be stiffer and potentially make the top of the leg tighter.

Great question. The difference between those liners is particularly slight. The new Tour Wraps have L-Pads built into them, they're 1mm thicker in volume, and they're a little bit stiffer on the top.
You may or may not feel a significant difference from these changes. If the classic models have already worked for you fine I would have no strong argument to suggest switching.

Thank you Ben! 1mm of additional volume in the lower part of the liner would be a good thing for me. I was looking at the pics again and realized that the cuff on the new Tour Wrap looks somewhat higher volume than the old TW--is that true as well? Want to be sure about that... a little extra volume there would be ok, but the Lupo doesn't play very nicely with higher volume cuffs--I've tried the power wrap MV and alpine MV liners in that boot and there's just too much cuff material on those to get the boot closed.

With the new Tour Wrap It's 1mm thicker everywhere, including the cuff. It's also stiffer on the top then the old Tour Wrap.

I just baked a set of dht-hd12 (fka pro tongues) into one year-old rx130 shells. No way I could get a wrap liner in these shells

They feel a little stiffer than my last pro tongues, but it’s been two yrs so memory may be faulty.
The foam seems a little thinner but more dense than what I remember.
They molded just fine using a rice sock.

I’m a big fan of wrap style liners over tongue liners. I have been in wrap liners for a long time so it is what I’m used to. With wrap liners I just feel like I have so much more support and a better locked in feel with a more consistent flex. I’m sure something like a zip fit could offer a similar feel but having to lace up your liner every time sounds annoying. Most tongue liners feel soft and spongy to me, I want something that is a little firm to push against.

I've had two of those. First pair I sold with the boots, but the second pair I still have 6-7 years old, probably 100+ days both inbounds and touring. Not sloppy in any way. Very stiff and responsive, but slightly heavy for exlusively touring.

Anyone got 28.5 tongue tour liners to sell off.

I can see the business case for streamlining what was becoming a bloated lineup, but from what I can tell the new Refined range of liners isn’t going to cover those who needed the FX/HD Race, ie. strong heel hold but with minimal padding of the instep and forefoot for use in genuine low volume shells.

I'm having instep issues with my prowrap in a Cochise. How do the FX or HD race compare to the lower volume wrap liners like the ProWrap

The FX/HD are great liners for instep issues. I've had a couple of pair and remember the cuff being large volume, so not always a perfect match depending on the leg and the boot.

I wish they would make a tour liner with the moccasin forefoot.

Interesting. I've always used ProWrap liners because they hold my skinny ankles with narrow forefoot great. But in my current shells the instep is a bit tight. Not sure if the FX (probably the way I would go bc of thinner sole than HD , I use footbeds so like the stroble sole of the ProWrap.) would hold a wide forefoot skinny ankle as well as the wrap liners

I was in cowtown last week on the way back from Mexico so I checked out an MEC cuz I hadn't been in one for awhile and seen smoking deals on touring boots and Intuition liners

unfortunately for our American cousins they don't ship this stuff across the line

The biggest difference between FX and HD is the FX has dual density foam. Noticeably softer and squishier than the HD foam.

If I'm used to the flex of the Power / ProWrap, would the FX seem too soft? The FX looks like it has a much thinner sole area while would prob work better w my high instep and Instaprint footbeds (the ProWrap has the stroble sole, no way I could use a Powerwrap w its thick sole in this boot)
