Good idea. Those Home Depot ones are super expensive and the wind kills them in 1 or 2 winters where I live.

I wish I could take credit for it but I just happened to see it and snapped a pic. The guy was working on some other wood project in his garage, and was quite happy that someone appreciated his diy ingenuity.
eta: this winter has been so windy that I don't think the box store versions would even make it to the spring.

Always love the memories your pics bring back, ms. Remind me of a time a bunch of years ago we did the farolito walk on Christmas Eve when my in laws were living there. Perfect chilly, calm evening for walking the streets and taking it all in. I kinda miss having a reason to go down there now that he folks live here. Santa Fe is a mighty cool town.
